M550D Logo instead of Perfomance
Hi All,
When I try to change my cluster logo to the one for M-performance I will get a M550D logo. For 3 and 1 series I did it in the correct way. I am sure I do everything allright... (I can get M235I logo). It looks like the M550D logo is mapped to the option for M-performance. anybody the same problem? |

I coded mine to M-Performance with no problems. Do you have the latest PSDZDATA?

It depends on your car's integration level. Newer integration levels had the M Performance logo replaced by the M550d logo.

Realistically, you can't.
BMW periodically creates a set of firmware for all ECU's in the car. These have been tested and work correctly with eachother. The combined package gets an integration level version slapped on it. Basically, a 03/2014 car may have rolled out of the factory with integration level "C" for example, while a 06/2016 car may have rolled out of the factory with integration level "K". Note that the integration level versions actually have quite long version numbers, I'm just trying to keep it simple by calling them "A" and "K". Later integration level versions had the M Performance logo replaced by the M550d logo. The only way to get the M Performance logo would be to downgrade the integration level and you seriously do not want to do it. A dealer won't do it for you, because there is a real risk of bricking one or more ECU's (resulting in a bricked car). Doing it yourself is even worse as you need a powerful power supply (75A minimum, although on the 2-er you can get away with 50A). Older firmware may not even be compatible with newer ECUs. Upgrading the integration level of your car is fine, provided you can get a dealer to do it or if you know what you're doing. It won't solve the problem though, unless BMW decides to include the M Performance logo again at some point.

No problem! Just get one of these to put on the back of the car and it'll match perfectly. No need to thank me.
