There is this video in this post: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...40&postcount=5
It shows doing the same thing in the centre console. In some ways the area you're looking at may be easier because of the access to power being right there. |

I prefer to have my phone in the cup holder as well as I use it often for navigation. I tried placing a QI charging "puck" in the cup holder and resting my phone on it, but it didn't work as the phone kept tilting when the car moved.

If you want cupholder mount, you could build one using the Belkin cupholder and then mounting a Qi charger like this.
I did something similar for my MotoZ vehicle dock. Pics in this post with thanks to BEM-S4 for the idea. I put actual instructions on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Moto_Z/comm..._a_cup_holder/ |

Thought I'd update this with what I did to get a magnetic Qi phone mount into my cupholder.
I used a couple of ABS plumbing pieces from Home Depot (a 2" cleanout adapter and a 2" Cap) to make a riser. The nibs on the side of the cleanout adapter make it a snug fit. I then attached the metal mounting plate from my Qi charger to the centre of the top of the riser. This is the Qi charger I used: https://www.amazon.ca/Wireless-Speda...+vehicle+mount It clears the top of the cupholder. and my phone sits at a slight downward angle which is perfect for my use. If you want more height, use a taller adapter. Here's what it looks like (without the phone because I needed it to take the picture). Last edited by JohnnyCanuck; 04-04-2019 at 07:48 PM.. |
