Nope, the same old crap where they will withhold those items for the LCI. Then when the new second gen 2 series comes out after that, bye bye again until that body's LCI.
Yeah that's ridiculous. I can't believe a plus 40k high preformance car like this doesn't come with these things! My 2012 335is has them all.

after reading most of this thread i think i might just pay a little more and go for the CLA amg. I was really looking forward for the 235i but after seeing the pricing after a few options it may not be worth it. might just keep beating up on my STI.

The thing I hate the most about it is it's the de facto way to most quickly date a car. When I see an LCI E92 in the middle of the intersection at night with all its LED blinkers, it looks soooo good. A pre-LCI car just looks like any other car.

Yeah I totally agree with you. And then I see all these audis and kias running around with led everything and it makes even more angry that the newer bmws don't all have these same things. On a related topic, have you noticed on the F30 and the X3 xenons aren't even standard? I feel sorry for the poor sap who buys one not knowing the difference until he sees another one on the road and wonders why his lights don't look like that!

They look great so I was trying to get the GM to build it with them on and pay the difference in the wheel cost, whatever it would be. Needless to say that was a no go and I realized how they make they $$.

My 2 cents on price is that this thing is a steal at $43k (look at the comparisons. This car matches up amazingly to the e46 M3, 335is, and other examples they list in the forum. I was looking at them last night and realized the thing is the same size as a e46!. My concerns of size were eliminated immediately) My 335is was $60k and if you take a e46 M3 at time of purchase and consider inflation I'm sure that they weren't cheap. I personally think it's a fair ratio of performance to cost. MPG is amazing too considering. But if I build what I want and add the rims and some other goodies I'm over $56k for sure. So I understand everyone's concerns.

I wish I could just go with the base at $43+ and be done with it. God forbid I can't use my nav to skype my friends while checking stocks and Facebook while hanging S turns at 70 mph. For me personally, even fully loaded, it will actually save me $ compared to my 335is and I really don't think I'm sacrificing much other than backseat legroom. Truth is I just wish we could order everything a la carte to meet our desires and price restrictions and add it up and the end. Unfortunately the "package" world is here to stay I think.
Agreed, rather than all the latest and greatest BS tech that I don't ever use as it takes away from the drive and creates potentially dangerous situations, I'll enjoy driving my "Ultimate Driving Machine."

I haven't read every post in this thread, so maybe this has already been covered, but in glancing at the guide, there is an entry that makes run flat tires look like an option. Does anyone know if this is really true? If so, Wow, and wonder if this signals the start of some sort of retreat from RFTs by BMW. I know that many of us would love to go back to GFTs and a doughnut spare, but we figured they never would because of the weight issues.

BMW performance vehicles do not come with RFT (M3,M5, etc). They generally have more performance oriented tires such as the Michelin PSS

Case in point, 328 with 240 hp is as fast as Caddy ATS with 3.6 with 321 hp according to 3-4 car magazine tests.

How long before Invoice and ED pricing?

I'm #3 in line, but I don't want to pull the trigger without exact figures (money factor, etc)

gotta say that BMW is doing a lot of great things with the M2/M4 for the enthusiast, but for the life of me i can't figure out why they wouldn't make a sunroof OPTIONAL on a M235 when more performance oriented customers tend to choose this model over the 228. they take two steps forward and one step back almost always with these new model releases. Sooo disappointing

Go drive them both, I just got home from driving the M235i a few hours ago and it walks all over the CLA 45 AMG which I have driven a few times. I have no reason to be looking for a new car right now but I wish I needed another car (and had money) the M235i is that good.

u can assume this is normal given that its the first year for the 2series. Im sure they've already thought of adding blinkers/led and what not into the next few designs. would be bad marketing if they put all those as standard the first year.

m235i pricing

Hi,
I ordered my m235i 17 days ago and it went into production yesterday.

Its Alpine White with Tech Package and Leather Dakota Coral Red/Black leather.

The dealer didnt take any down payment or deposit from me. He said it was ok and was actually quite nice to me.

He said we would knock the price down later when the car arrived - so on the order form the MSRP - 47625 was printed, with the agreed price left empty.

Is this normal?

thanks.

Doesn't sound like he has any obligation to sell it to you, and if it is high demand in your market, he might tell you later he's got another offer for it... Is the dealer BMW owned, or another company? I'd check his Yelp reviews.

Based on what he said, I assumed the final deal would be below the MSRP.
