Lease signing today, a couple of questions

I'm signing my lease paperwork today. I'm doing ED.

I noticed the odometer reading on the lease agreement is 12. According to the other mileage thread, it should be between 5-10 for state-side delivery. How come mine is higher for an ED?

what is the disposition fee ($350)? it says in the parentheses "if I do not purchase the vehicle."

Thanks Gents!

Disposition fee is charged by BMW if you turn in the car at the end of your lease without exercising the buy out option. Now, they do happily waive it if you get another BMW at around the same time as your lease ends. That's standard and isn't a negotiable part of the lease. Getting it removed though or waived is something you handle at the end.

+1 it's like that for everything. If you're anything like me you will forget about it, get all excited for your new car and if it's not another BMW get pissed when they remind you to cut them a check to give the car back, but that's just nature of the beast when leasing.

No. It's assessed at the end of your lease.

Right, that's also when you settle up for mileage overage (although you can buy more during lease cheaper if needed) excess wear and tear, etc.

NP. Seriously ask about the mileage if it may be a concern for you. I forget what it is because I drive so little, but it's the same price if you do more up front or during the lease up to like 30 days out from termination, then like double if you do at end. If you are planning to get another BMW though it won't matter.

Also in the event you do have any cosmetic issues there is "fixed" and there is "lease fixed." My garage valet smashed the shit out of my Touareg years ago on a concrete pillar, fixed for real was $2K. My body shop did some paintless dent removal and buffed the hell out of it so it looked 90% fine and you'd never notice unless you knew to look for $150.

This is just a number someone put in, you rather have them put a higher value than a low one as your 30k / 36k a year start from that value.

300012 etc..

That's interesting. With Porsche leases, you have to pay $500 if you choose to buy the car at the end of the lease but if you choose to just return it there is no fee!! Interesting that BMW does it the other way.
