Just Ordered my 228i
Hello my name is Travis and I just ordered my 228i and I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I'm currently living near Stuttgart, Germany. This will be my first BMW and I'm really excited. Unfortunately, my car won't be finished till late May, early June due to the factory shortage.
I am already planning a trip to the Nuremburg Ring late this summer with a couple of friends who have Audi's. I had no idea the Ring is considered a public road and you can drive on it for 28 Euros (toll). This whole time I've been in Germany and I could have driven on one of the world's most tracks!! I'm interested in getting some basic bolt-on pieces but I have some questions. Is an air intake pointless without some sort of tuner/chip? If so, do they make any tuner kits that won't void the warranty? I've noticed a couple of owners mention turbo upgrades; what kind of turbo upgrades can I do that won't void the warranty? Thanks in advance for your advice. Take care! Specs: 2015 Alpine White 228i RWD Coral Red interior M Sport Pkg Lighting Pkg Cold Weather Pkg |

Congratulations! I also have a 228i on order for a May 4 ED. I didn't know the Nuremberg ring was a public road ether. I'm going to have to look at adding this to my trip.

DillionDay,
I think you mean the Nurburgring, not Nuremburg. I bring it up, because I almost made the same mistake planning out my trip one time. They are in completely different parts of the country. Both are worth seeing, but only one has the famous road course you are looking for! |

Just ordered my 228i as well, can't wait!
The Touristenfahrten days are usually evenings and weekends, weather permitting. They post the schedule online here: http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/drives...dschleife.html It's a blast though, you'll love it. This video sums it up nicely - fancy cars mixed in between buses, vans, and everything else. |
