What's this (B48)?

Can't find any reference in my manuals to the coolant reservoir next to the main/engine coolant reservoir. I'm curious, anyone know? Turbo cooling? It's the smaller opening in the pic.

It is the reservoir for the liquid to air intake intercooler circuit.

there are 2 different cooling circuit in Bxx engines.
one is primary cooling circuit with mechanical pump. It cools the engine and oils.
Second cooling circuit is for intercooler and AC. It's driven by electric pump.

Primary circuit is high temperature (107~112 C) and secondary circuit is low temperature (as low as the ambient)
