I am - my car finished production on 9/26 and has been ready to ship the last several days. Is the Virgo Leader the next ship heading out? I should prob check w/ my CA I guess.

Latest on the Virgo Leader

As posted above, the Virgo Leader is now in the Pacific. Following it on http://www.marinetraffic.com/ as are others. I took the "one month, one ship" AIS Satellite subscription (13 Euros) to get up to date position reports while far away from shore.

Thought the El Salvador off shore 7.6 EQ yesterday might have presented a navigational challenge but the tsunami warning was canceled fairly soon after the 'quake.

NYK RoRo schedule now calls for the VL to be in San Diego on 22 October, probably to drop off VW's and Audi's since the ship's port before Bremerhaven was Emden. Then to Long Beach, the next day, to drop off MB's. As above, the VL makes its next call at Port Hueneme to drop our cars plus Mini's and maybe a Rolls or two.

As of Tuesday 14 October 2PM PST, VL is 60NM off the southern coast of Costa Rica at a speed of 16.5 KN with about 2,500 NM to go to San Diego. Ship's own stated ETA to San Diego shows as 21 October at 10am-one day early. Great if that happens and if every remaining US port is the same but I'll bet the VL will show down or otherwise won't start to unload in San Diego until the scheduled day. NYK RoRo hasn't been off even one day on port calls on this journey. The VL is on an round-the-world route constantly and Japan is listed as the next port after PH.

I'm 2015 F22 ED, Sport Line, proudly ZMT. Europe and BMW Welt was a blast!

Virgo Leader now not shown going to Long Beach when she sailed from San Diego a little while ago.

Next port shown is Port Hueneme with arrival 10/23. One day early?

That would be fabulous. One day earlier off the ship and on average one day earlier to the dealers and us!

We'll see in a few hours if the VL will steam at speed to PH for arrival 10/23 or take her time for a slow cruise up the coast. I estimate 140nm from San Diego to PH. Could easily make it overnight.

Awesome to unload one day early, right?

Awesome! Thanks for looking! I live near Long Beach...I was going to wave as it went by (if during the day).

Yes! A day earlier would be nice!

Virgo Leader Now in Port Hueneme

The VL is now moored near the Vehicle Preparation Center!

Vehicles should be off loaded today. Our European Delivery cars are probably going to get an extra look from Customs and Border Protection. All other cars are usually cleared electronically.

This is rumor...that all cars that were ordered for specific customers and ED cars are processed first as the VPC know those customers are waiting.

When cleared, vehicles will be driven a short distance to the VPC for washing and removal of shipping aids. Then a through inspections for damage, defects and blemishes which will be corrected on site. Then installation of further options not installed in Germany as well as software downloads for navi, etc.

Hard to know how many cars are coming off. Minis and maybe a Rolls or two. I'd be guessing to say 2,500? I've read this is the highest volume VPC BMW has. It should be able to process through 350 vehicles per day. I'd say anywhere from 5-14 days until they all hit the dealers depending if there was any backlog from the previous ship.

We just don't know where all of ours will fall in line based on the tasks at the VPC that need to be done, possible repairs and dispatch for trucking to dealers, etc.

Call your Client Advisers at the dealers and ask them the time until delivery. Tell them you know the ship is here.
