Introduced her to her new friend. She got mad at me because she thinks she will be getting less attention from now on but I assured them I'll love them both equally.

Tons of patience, very little skill. I had never tried before, just watched a bunch of YouTube videos. Be sure to watch a “how to wrap corners” before trying

I'd be worried about getting the trim pieces off and back on. I assume you have to remove / replace them? Are there tangs that might break off etc?

It was actually last Wednesday, but the most recent thing I did to my M235i was trade it on a 2017 M2. Not because I didn't love the 235, it is a great car, but I just couldn't hold out getting a M2 any longer.

Pretty much done with car! Mineral white red leather. Carbon fiber and alcantra all inside. MPE exhaust, Fabspeed sport cat downpipe, Wagner evo 2 intercooler, Dinan cold air intake, ER charge pipes. Flash tune stage 2! M performance diffuser and front lip, and etc I probably forgot about hahahaha.

(Technically last night)

I dropped it off at the dealership and left with a loaner.

Air conditioner started blowing hot out of nowhere.

Also (a recurring problem) the infotainment system went haywire again and randomly started flipping through every screen and option.
If I tried to go to a screen it would just start beeping and going from screen to screen again.

Not too happy that I'm taking in my car less than 4 months old for problems like this.

I already took it in once for the electrical problem. I told them about the media system flipping out and coming out to my car in the morning with all the windows down and the sunroof open.
They told me it was the keyfob getting depressed accidentally.
Since then I am extra careful with it yet the problem still persists.

Update from the dealer.

The nav/idrive control unit is being replace.
A/C stopped working because a rock hit the lower right radiator and punctured it causing a leak. Of course this means I have to file an insurance claim to get it fixed.

Had a day off work so did this, before and after.

Definitely adds 5 bhp

Also did a boot pop with green die springs, doesn't pop all the way so might change them.

Washed her, before sadly having to give her up. Finally got around to tweaking the rear end in such a way that I wouldn't hate looking at it, and I'm sad that I didn't get to enjoy those visual mods for a longer time.

Probably a truck I never saw myself driving. I'm relocating from the beautiful PNW to the Midwest. Between the ridiculous insurance premiums there, awful road conditions, use of salt, and snow half the year, it just doesn't make sense to bring it.

Agreed. But then again you bought a 2 series so the norm isn't you. People in Alaska drive Porsche's. You only live once. I'm from the PNW but retired in the south.

2 series plus $14k for a used X5 would make a lot of sense. Not that I know anyone who's gone that route

I live in Northeastern Wisconsin and drove a TTS as my daily for a few years and loved it. And I have my 2 series coming. I can't control the salt or the weather but heck, driving a sporty AWD or RWD with Snow Tires can be damn fun too. I'm not going to sacrifice driving enjoyment when there are working options. Even with the salt with proper upkeep a car will last longer than I'm going to keep it.

Lot's of folks drive nice cars in the Midwest. It's really not the "outpost" you seem to imply. Keep the M235i and find a beater for the bad weather, possibly a truck.

This is a very popular approach in the Midwest, and in New England, too.

Sorry I just missed you with selling mine, but can't recommend highly enough a Subaru. I no longer spend winters here, but the Crosstrek on Bridgestone KO2 tires was a beast in the winters....took off on ice/snow like a scalded cat, all for low twenties new...may as well find a lightly used one. With the BMW safely waiting out winter in the garage, I drove and parked the Subaru anywhere and it handled the potholes/ruts with ease...lots of suspension travel. Got to the point where I drove it when it rained or to densely packed parking lots...the "no worries" car!

No doubt. I'm young, and beginning my career though. So my outlook is that I can put the 235 money away, save for a while, and get back into the seat of something enjoyable in a couple years. Or make a down payment on a home. Adulting sucks.

Couldn't agree more! I had a '15 WRX, and drove a family Forester XT, and Crosstrek extensively. Outstanding all-weather vehicles!

No, no!!! "Adulting" is how you acquire the resources to go whole-hog with this hobby, which can absorb as much long green as you can throw at it.

Seriously, your approach is clearly practical, and deferred gratification is a tried-and-true method for achieving one's goals. Enjoy yourself in Dearborn.
