What did you do to your 2 series today?

The two best mileage scenarios for me are either steady open highway, or blasting through the mountains (mountain driving is probably never above 75, usually around 65 on the straights). Either will get me up near, sometimes a bit over 30mpg. I think the engine is on the cam, so to speak, and thus more efficient up into the power band. I just love that my favorite and most sporting driving is also the most 'efficient'.

Could you please tell us more about how you chose that strut brace vs. alternatives? Experience with KC? Price?

I will post a separate thread but I actually discovered that one when researching the engine dipping, someone had one installed. The service was excellent KC is super responsive you just have to realize you'll get an answer the next day with time difference. Installing tonight but from visual inspection and test fit it looks great. Total was just under $200 shipped.

At the end of the day, unless you go full on BMW $2K or whatever it is for the CF deal the vert already has additional bracing so adding a strut brace is really the only reasonable $ option. It's a very simple design mounting plates with a pipe, so as long as it's made well (which the KC is) there isn't really a "better mousetrap" so to speak. Only mod needed was removing his logo and putting mine on

Ordered the rear one as well that's en-route.

Oh one other thing shipping was MUCH faster than he estimated. 2 weeks vs 4. Your experience may vary though not sure about good luck getting through customs or whatever.

Good news, and thanks for that info....just have to contact them to find out if it's compatible with 228i....one would think mounting is the same, but clearance profile over the top might vary...

If it helps at all he told me it's the same part for my father's 328 sport wagon so it should also work for you. I'd definitely confirm with him though.

His English is good so no problem there but I've found it best to stick to one or two questions per email then follow up with more. If you ask more than that you'll get an answer to one or two so not really any more efficient. Plus if you ask a few related questions hard to tell which one he's answering sometimes.

Correct, no speed limit on open roads out of town.

Burned 1000 mp3s on 2 DVDRs and saved them to my Music Collection in the car. I usually use Spotify when driving this car, but it's nice to know that I also have 1000 songs loaded up that I can listen to whenever. Pretty handy feature.

No, used it on the outside:

-Rip a piece off tape off bigger than the cap
-Press the middle of the tape on the cap
-Grab each end of loose tape and you can spin it in place with enough leverage

(You can also pull the cap straight out using the same concept, but that takes a little more effort/luck)
