2018 M240 xi with standard Hi-Fi

Hi, I have a new 2018 m240xi with navigation and the standard Hi-fi. I'm having compatibility issues with my sony NWZ-ZX1 mp3 player connected via usb or bluetooth audio. I understand that mp3 compatibility is not guaranteed Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I also tried loading the mp3 files to the bmw memory stick and only one song was recognized. Is this a problem with the type of file that the music is encoded i.e. flac, wav, etc.? Thanks

I believe the memory stick has to be formated for FAT32.

This is a great suggestion. Try this first, OP.

I'm not sure if the current version of iDrive is compatible with exFAT, but that is an option as well if you use your music files across OS platforms (ex. between OS X and Windows). Worth a try on a 2018.

Maybe this, the mass storage mode setting prevented me using my Samsung phone for mp3 playback on my wife's old subaru, but the same phone works fine on our bmws
