My 2017 M240i started production on June 12th and finished on June 21. Sounds like I was the very last week of 2017 production.

Did he ever get back to you? My dealer says he can get the black wheels on an M240i, he didn't mention discounts as he's trying to sell me an M3 but I'm not sure I can live with the size or turning circle

BMW with the usual and same bullshit they did with the F30 LCI claiming larger kidney grilles and lower intake grilles while in reality nothing changed.

Here's a comparison from the new configurator and the old one.

Nope, not heard back from my dealer. I did have a chat with the BMW people through their website. He said although its not available to configure online, we should be able to order it through the dealer. He said our configurator should go online early July.
For me the 3/4 series is a bit too big. I think the size of the 2 series is perfect for a fun drive.

BMW's claim of LCI front end changes (ie. larger kidney grilles and lower intake grilles), applies to the base model non-Msport only.

If thought that too, but in the introduction video here the presenter specifically pointed at the M-Sport and said the outer air intakes increased in size.

I doubt they will change the kidney grille size for some models and some not too as that will cause the grilles to be interchangeable, especially their black M-Perf grilles.
I checked the sport-line model in the configurator and the kidney grilles are exactly the same size and the outer air intakes seem only a couple mm's larger.

I noticed that in the video too but I chalked it up to incompetence of the presenter.

On another note are you checking the configurator on bmw.de? I noticed that the manual transmission is no longer offered on the m240i on the bmw.de site.

Well, we do live in the era of fake news, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised..

Yeah I noticed that too. Not only the M240i, but also the 230i and 220i. It seems to only be available on the 218i, 218d and 220d. I hope it's only missing from the configurator and not in real life.

I've ordered an M240i in sunset orange with the black wheels, I could only get £5k off the price which is about what I got off the M235i a couple of years ago

I'm going for the same. Haven't placed the order yet. My dealer is offering around 15% off on the total. Going to be trading in my 225d, so looking forward to driving a petrol pot after a long time. Do you have a built time?

Said I'll have it second week in September, just hope I like the colour, they had a 4 series in sunset orange and it looked nice in the sunlight so it should be okay

Awesome.. I am thinking about ordering the Orange too. I think there was a study done that Orange actually resells pretty well (found here). I may be ordering this weekend! Does anyone know when the online configuration will be available? I would love to see the different options come together before I buy it...

Joe Achilles has a great walk through for the LCI. Very interesting observations from him regarding the new dash, gauges, and stalks.

Don't know if it's just me, but does the exhaust sound better on the LCI? Maybe they did change up the resonator schema.

I just took delivery of my 2018 M240i. A quick peek under the car shows that there are still two resonators in the mid pipe, and sadly to me, the exhaust sound seems way too quiet, just as so many others have reported for earlier models. However, I don't have an earlier model handy to do a true A-B comparison.

Other than a modest bump in HP & torque, in what way is the B58 better for the 2er than the N55? - and, if it is better, does that alone justify the "upgrade" to the LCI version?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a valid reason to upgrade (as would my son).
If you are looking for a bump in HP & Torque my son put a DinanTronics Sport chip in for $400 CAD. He's also got the Dinan CAI. This thing is plenty fast for as 25 year old.

Congratulations. It looks like you're one of the first in the US to get the 2018 LCI model. I'm looking into a CPO M235i vs. just going for it and ordering a LCI M240i.

Can I ask a few questions regarding your 2018 LCI model?

LED HEADLIGHTS
- Can you please confirm if indeed the LED headlamps are indeed projectors NOT reflectors?
- Are the front turn signals LEDs as well or are they still incandescent bulps?
- How is the night time performance of these LED headlights?
- Did you option for the Adaptive LED?

LED TAIL LIGHTS
- Are the turn signals also LEDs? Amber or red?

SIDE MIRRORS
- Is the manual folding option still available for the side mirrors? I didn't see BMW USA website listing it in their standard specs.

DRIVING ASSISTANCE PKG
- Did you opt for the Driving Assistance Package for $500? I'm trying to understand what's the difference between the DAP $500 vs. Park Distance Control a la cart option for $800

Thank you @havinfun !

I can answer the DAP vs PDC question. The configurator for 2018 on BMW site seems wrong. The general description for the DAP for $500 lists the description of the DAP from last year (camera + parking sensors). Neither is part of the 2018 DAP. The 2018 DAP is the same as the 2017 and earlier DAP+. The rear camera is now standard while the parking sensors are the $800 PDC option.

In Summary:
Rearview Camera - standard.
DAP Package (Active Driving Assistant + Speed Limit Info) - $500.
PDC (front+rear parking sensors) - $800

There is more info in the 2018 order guide thread, but it may not be correct either as it lists "5DP - Parking Assistant" as part of the PDC option, however it's not listed on the BMW online configurator and people that ordered that option are reporting that the parking assistant option was removed from their actual build.

Thank you @CAMOETO for the clarification. That was driving me nuts! BMW seem to be pretty good with listing out their features in the spec sheets but at times they can be vague.

I appreciate that they made some features standard and they pared down the pkgs to just two (the best being Premium Package). But the DAP vs. PDC a la cart option is just playing games and moving things around: giveth and taketh. Audi is guilty of this but I guess I shouldn't be surprised BMW would do it too.
