A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a 2016 M235ix coupe that is now in the production phase. I've been tracking its progress online through BMW's tracking page. I opted to have no moonroof (ZDM option code). However, on BMW's tracking page, this option is not listed (the color, leather, packages, and non-run flat tires I selected are listed). The picture of the car on that page also appears to show a moonroof as well. I grew concerned and asked the CA at my dealership who assured me that the option was selected and sent me the ordering/quote sheet. I also got the VIN for my car and plugged it into a VIN decoder (BMWVIN.com). Going through the options, I don't see ZDM or moonroof deletion anywhere.

1. Should the moonroof deletion appear on Track my BMW?
2. How accurate are the online VIN decoders?
3. Should I be concerned that the moonroof deletion option is not present? Can anything be done now that the car has entered production?
4. Also, comparing the standard options listed on the ordering guide with what was decoded through the VIN, I see that there are some missing options as well as some additional ones too. Any explanations?

Answer - it doesn't show up as ZDM Moonroof Deletion, you will simply notice that the moon roof is "poof" gone (deleted) from the list of equipment.

roof normally shows up as: 403 GLAS ROOF, ELECTRIC

BMW USA website normally lists major packages only.

BMW VIN is 100% accurate. The items you see listed are factory coded and not meant for the public to see.

thanks for the info. i guess i'll see once it arrives but it's not the end of the world if it comes with the moonroof.

I ordered and picked up mine with moonroof deletion and it did not show that option on the bmw site. As long as your CA put it in for the request it should come as you want. I am definitely loving the moonroof delete option

i just received (yesterday) my car without moonroof. My bmwvin report was the sames as yours... you're fine.
