Blizzak WS80 or Yokohoma IceGuard ic52g?

I've narrowed down my selection to these 2 tires. Theres about a $160 price difference between the two. Any thoughts on which one to get? I've heard great things about the Blizzaks, but I haven't heard much about about the Yokohomas.

Also, if I bought the tire and wheel insurance for my car are winter tires covered as well?

I cant speak on the tires as I am shopping for them as well. But I can speak to the tire insurance... as long as it is a BMW approved tire, they will cover it under the insurance. I know for a fact that the WS80's are BMW approved and covered. No idea about the yoko's

The WS80's are a very good winter traction tire. I ran them on my 228 last winter in Calgary AB. Great on both snow and ice. I buy a winter tire for traction and not performance. They were much better than the Dunlop 3D's I used to run on my 128.

Thanks for the input! I ended up going with the WS80 so that my tires would still be covered in the winter too.

It's gonna be my first time driving in the northeast during the winter so I decided to go with the WS80s, everyone says they're one of the best dedicated snow tires.

What tires are you going to run with this winter?

The WS80's. Either 215 or 225 X 17".

I run a square set of 17" rims and 225 section width on my 228i Sport. Actually rides way better than the OEM Pirelli Runflats (sh!tty tires).
