I have the same specs. Red interior, black sapphire. The blue callipers are fine. I actually had 2 random compliments on how cool the brakes look. Strange but I was told this by two individuals. Never happened to me before.

U can get the calipers painted from a shop for few hundreds.
Or buy Dupli color brake caliper kit from pep boys for $19 or so, maybe cheaper.
It's high temperature caliper paint. It's a brush paint and comes out really good.

I powdercoated mine, but I am a powdercoater who specializes in brakes, so it was only natural.

If you are going with paint, have them professionally done, not a diy kit. I can't tell you how many people try that and then wind up sending them to me to be redone.

Would never do them myself, it's either get em done by someone who knows what they're doing or don't do it at all.

Need some input on people who have done this.

Thanks
I've painted mine on several cars.

I agree with what you are saying and i too would not want the superman effect.

The blue brakes makes it hard to choose a color in the first place.

I prefer Silver or Gunmetal.

I have to admit that the blue calipers was a concern when I chose Valencia Orange and it still is. I'll see what it looks like when I get my car and make a decision then. (I know, Sportstick, you painted yours VO. ) There are a lot of reasons why I like leasing, but this is one area in which leasing is an issue. I have a feeling if I return the car with anything but EB calipers it's going to be a problem. VO is a great color, but it presents all kinds of limitations (no 235, no M Sport line, coral red interior doesn't work, and the calipers).

I think as long as they are done professionaly, a color change on the calipers won't be an issue. The Porsche dealer told me I was fine on my Cayenne.

I'll ask when I pick up my car. I put non-OEM stripes on my MINI (after all, what's a MINI without stripes!) and it wasn't a problem but just to be safe I had the sales manager sign off on a picture of the stripes I wanted to put on indicating that they would be OK at turn in. Turns out I didn't need the documentation because they weren't even mentioned when I turned it in.

Sportstick, did they mask everything off and paint the calipers on the car or did they remove them? Are the ///M stickers available to replace the ones that are there after you paint them? I don't want to get into the whole badge discussion again. I'm asking just so they look more stock after the paint job. Finally, I know they did it for you as part of your deal on the car, but do you know how much they would have charged if it wasn't part of the deal?

They masked and painted on the car. I was able to find replacement ///M decals on eBay.

I intend to replace them during the spring change from winter tires back to 3 season, so I can have a moment of good access while the car is up. Actually, it was the dealer's body shop (they own it), but they are run as a separate business, so it was a completely separate transaction as follows:

Custom color caliper paint kit is $139.95, Labor: $200.00 = $339.95

Mirrors caps: $208.40

Total cost for mirrors & calipers = $548.35

Although the mirrors match the calipers, the actual paint formulation used for those two different environments are different, so two paint batches were ordered. The calipers were hand-painted, not sprayed.

Great info. Thanks! I'll decide when I get the car.

Ask your dealership's lease end specialist. There are quite a few things they're generally willing to overlook. Mostly in damages to the vehicle, so I would imagine a tasteful modification would not even get a second thought, especially if it looks like a factory mod.
