info on M Performance wheels for the 2-series?
I'd like to know some more about the quality of the wheels with the M designator affix of their model names, such as the 461 M or 436 M (the latter being the standard for M235i). Apart from the nice looks, is for instance the 461 M supposed to be lighter and/or stronger than the regular wheels standard on lower 2-series models, like e.g. the 385 alloy?
Anyone know if they are flow-formed or just cast? What is the 461 M wheel's weight? Or to put it differently: are the price differences between them just a matter of looks, and one needs to use after-market ones for other qualities?

I believe the M simply designates that they are mixed size (staggered) wheels.
As far as quality, I expect all OEM wheels are manufactured using the same processes with the same suppliers. I wouldn't expect the wheels on the 2 series to be any better. Perhaps the competition wheels used on the M cars.

The M designation in the part numbers means there's an "M" logo on the rim. I've seen mixed size/staggered wheel packages without an M designation in the part number.
