I need a heads up on a heads up display

Does anyone know why the HUD (Heads Up Display) is not presently an option on the 2 series and might it be down the road? I was told that the 2 series windshield size will not allow for a HUD - can anyone confirm that? Thanks for taking the time to reply in advance!

The size isn't an issue. Camaro have a much smaller windshield and they have a HUD. My guess is they decided to leave it out of the 'cheaper' cars.

I believe the original conclusion that was reached was it was either:

overlooked
to be introduced in the 2015 models
they don't want to give you "everything" and make you go for a 3 series or 4 series.

jtzako and 1Mike1, Thanks for taking the time to respond/share your insights. I think you both could be right on - the "cheaper" perspective or the "not everything at once" perspective are real possibilities. Thanks again!

Or it could be an LCI addition - I am guessing we will see LED headlights then too...should be on the M2 regardless...

Shoot even the new MINI Cooper S has a HUD option (retractable screen). So hopefully it will be available as an LCI option in the future.
