Anybody order one? Are dealers going below msrp?

Look at truecar.com and you can see dealers offering convertibles in SoCal at discounts. And in my experience you can do even better than that, often substantially. If you are going to custom order a car, I could see a dealer trying to tell you than convertibles are more difficult to get, but I don't see why discounts for the convertible would be any different than coupes, for the same reason one would not expect different a discount for a red car versus a white one.

I guess I can't say anything here since I bought mine for msrp... There was only 1 dealer in my area that had an allocation and they were not willing to go below since they knew no one else had it and someone will come to buy the car at that price. It was either I pay a little "extra" to get the car earlier or wait around for a deal.

Luckily for me, it worked out cause my Mini Cooper recently died (well, there was a lot of repairs needed which came out to the value of the car itself so I decided not to repair) so I'm in a rental until my car comes which is in less than a month!

Yeah, if you can't wait, your options may be limited as dealers are stocking few 2 series, and the convertibles have not even arrived at the dealers yet. When does your car arrive?

It's on a ship right now heading for west coast. It's scheduled to arrive end of February and I believe it's about a week after it arrives at port before it arrives at the dealership? I think I'm looking at early March.
