M Performance Exhaust / Rear Diffuser Review

Figured I would post this here because videos are really hard to come by when exhaust shopping.

The video is in comfort mode, not cold, with a JB4 and BMS intake installed. The cats are still on the car and the down pipe is stock (for now). I think the sound is excellent off cold starts. Lots of gurgling, popping, cracking on cold revs etc. When it warms up, its almost silent. It is no louder than the stock exhaust when driving. If there is any difference, I can't hear it. If anything, I just hear the intake more. There MIGHT be slight difference in first and second gear but meh. Not loud at all.

The rear diffuser looks so awesome on a white car when you leave it black. I test fitted the front M diffuser and will be painting it white / black. I hate the all black look with those big huge sides.

The install was very easy for the exhaust and diffuser. In total it probably took me an hour or two. Included is a picture so you can see where I cut the exhaust. In conclusion - This is not loud enough for me, and I will be removing the resonator and adding a downpipe within the next couple weeks.

Thanks for that... Am also looking at exhaust options...

This was exactly what I feared about the m performance exhaust is that it's not loud enough...

I think partly it's due to great sound insulation as well...

I agree - ill update this thread when I cut out the resonator, and ill update it again when I have the down pipe.

Yes, they will usually get 'louder' but nowhere near what I'm looking for. Im not complaining at all, the sound is better for sure. Just not loud.

It does not, they are separate.

There are 2 part #s for the MPE. One is to pair with the stock diffuser and the other is to pair with the MP Diffusor. You cannot have the MP diffusor without the MPE, it will look weird. You would have to either modify your stock exhaust or just get the MPE to pair with the diffusor.

The MPE is definitely louder and sounds great outside the car, inside however, you will be hard pressed to tell the difference.

I also just installed the MP diffuser for my M235ix. My MPE tips do not stick out very far with the new diffuser and I'm wondering if there might be any heat issues warping diffuser if anyone knows?

OEM BMW.
MPE is for stock style diffuser. I know OEM has 2 part numbers for MPE. One for cars with stock diffusers and one for MP Diffusers. I'm wondering if anyone knows if it looks or function to have extended tail pipes.

BMW also sells extenders. I bought a pair for $75. Easy install, just 15 mins or thereabouts. Stick out much further now.

Did you find that the exhaust pipe cutter that you used worked well?

They sell extensions to use on the exhaust to fit the tips of a stock exhaust or normal diffuser M performance with the diffuser.
