How does this work with the tune if you uninstall it? I know when I had a Cobb Accessport in the past if you uninstalled it for say service then it would erase any tunes you may had done with the car and would just revert back to the standard universal maps that came with it. I wouldn't want to pay for a dyno tune just to lose it because I had to remove it for a day then have to go back and re-dyno tune it again with the JB4.

No tuning by the shop. They are not equip'd to do tuning for the 2 Series car. The multiple runs were to establish a baseline with just the intake then several runs with the N55 Stage 1 installed to see how it handle heat soak for real world power.

Oh I see now, the file names/numbers get bigger with the lower power (heat soak). I thought your first run was 316, then 320 and then 323 and thought you were doing some tuning to improve the numbers but looks like it was actually in reverse with 323 being the first run, right?
Any drivability issues? Does it feel 100% stock smooth? |

You do feel the extra torque for sure. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear pulls are much harder than before. For now it is just perfect. Once Dinan releases their new tune I will sell my BMS and get the software update from Dinan.

Sorry I meant how is drivability, did it lose any of the stock smoothness (like does it idle any rougher at all, or are there any negative signs that you have the mods)?

The only thing I have notice is after a cold startup, the throttle tip has a slight hesitation but immediately goes back to normal throttle control. Not sure the BMS is causing this or normal for the car without the BMS as I haven't really did a lot of cold starts of the car when in factory only parts as I went with these upgrades right away.
The drive of the car is perfectly fine and operates smooth other than the boost comes on stronger than before. Last edited by Delnari; 08-16-2014 at 02:14 PM.. |

Follow-up, the N55 Stage 1 is removed and awaiting deliver of the Dinan Stage 1 in the next several days. Scheduled to go back to the same Dyno on 8/22 after I install the Dinan and see what new numbers I get.
