That's what I'm doing from this point on..
I'll be honest... I WILL miss the added power... If I never had it... If never miss it. Maybe in a year or so, with more history I'll try again. |

Aside from the potential problems, the rough idling is a deal breaker for me at this point. I know it's only for 10 seconds or so, but to me this is supposed to be a luxury vehicle, a sporty one at that, but still luxury and I don't want it to feel anything but 100% stock smooth.

At this point BMS is not accepting blame for the bad sensor that occurred immediately after installing their intake? Did they give a reason why they believe it wasn't the intake that cause the problem?
What did BMW say when you took the car in with it back in Stock form? Really like to hear both sides of this so we can figure out what happen. |

BMW is fine.
This is what I got from that fine company BMS, regarding the return. "The intake is not returnable per our terms and conditions" Again... Use ANY other company, if this is how they treat people. |

Wow. That's like asking a girl out and she says no because she has to go out to dinner with family and never offers another day as an alternative. Rip up their number and never call again.

It probably won't be detected, but it probably isn't ethical either and withholding information may make it harder to diagnose the problem. There is also the interesting issue that if someone lies about aftermarket parts and gets caught, I don't see anyone being interested in helping them with a warranty claim.

An intake won't blow your "turbo sensor" but a JB4 problem could cause a TMAP sensor error. Since you can't connect to the JB4 it sounds like it is fried.
Apparently some customers have had their USB cable touch the near by battery rail which blows out the JB4 board and sometimes the TMAP ground. BMS is well versed in helping you resolve this issue if it comes up and the fix is fairly easy. The JB4 F30 install guide was also recently updated with directions for the fix. Mike |
