Does Alpine have matching his and hers in black and white on order again, or is the M2 not limited enough? I really, really want an M2. Not returning back to Canberra for another couple of years now, but still considering putting one on order and keeping it in Cairns for when I visit there (probably once a month or so) and paying it off while I'm O/S. Mineral Grey or AW Pure would be my pick. |

Not sure about discounting. I've got one on order with October 2016 delivery. Decided to buy the new AMG C63 coupe. Happy to assign the order to anyone interested at no premium.

Yes that's one of the videos I saw!
Can the M performance exhaust be ordered as a factory option, or is it only installed on behalf of a BMW dealership (once car arrives in Australia)? I don't want to have to take it down to some local unknown mechanic to fit it and then stuff the car up! (Or are there authorised bmw mechanics who are able to install this without voiding warranty) |

Saw my first M2 on the road just now, coming in opposite direction from afar. Couldn't have missed it with its distinctive LBB, low wide front profile and large inverted trapezoidal front grill. The growl it made when we passed was quite impressive even with my windows up. Unsure if its stock, MP or aftermarket pipes and box but I was duly impressed. I was sure I wouldn't dabbled in the M2 but I'm not so sure now!! lol Looked and sounded great

No offence but it's only an exhaust... it's pretty hard to "stuff it up" Obviously you don't have to go to an "unknown mechanic" there are plenty of BMW specialists (service) and BMW aftermarket tuners/parts specialists in each state, they would be a lot more competent than BMW dealerships. Do BMW provide the M performance exhaust as an option? They don't provide products that doesn't have ADR compliance As for "factory option" that's a no. What I found previously with my M235i is they offer M performance exhaust (port install) but the price of the exhaust is priced into the car... therefore you'll have to pay LCT on the exhaust as well, the labour charge was double of an exhaust specialist as well, port install you don't get your standard one back (correct me if i'm wrong). For example, car is $110,000, the LCT is around $10,500 if you add the exhaust $3,000 (example don't know the exact cost), LCT will be $11,280 which is $780 more, plus BMW charge an extra $150 labour cost than most for the job. You're going to be paying $1,000 extra more having BMW install it, while possibly not getting the stock ones back (which if you want to sell the M performance one in the future, you can't therefore more costs). Anyways, my views on exhaust itself? For the M235i, it wasn't worth it, as it's axle-back but was so expensive but sound was average compared to cat-back. The M2 (from pictures) on the other hand is more a hybrid not exactly a cat-back and not an axleback, but from midpipe down. I think in that sense, with it being a BMW product, and difference not as big as others, the price premium might be worth it.

Thanks, looks like I found an M2 in regional Qld (October delivery). Undecided on the MPE as I haven't received any pricing on the M2 Performance Exhaust yet, but they said it would be dealer fitted.
Keen to get the M performance carbon side mirror caps, black front kidney grill surrounds and the M rear carbon diffusor. (similar external cosmetic mods to my M5 I'm driving now). No confirmed prices yet. Could do the DIY & import from IND but if the price difference isn't much, I'll just get it through the dealer. |

We've also found by just enabling MDM in comfort mode the exhaust omits some nice deep extra rumbles on overun. http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1277527 |

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the exhaust was put on at factory (as part of the build), but since it's a port/dealership thing, I'll definitely wait before deciding on upgrade.
Anyone ordered any m performance parts through their dealer or are most doing the DIY import from IND? |

I believe you can buy the M235i front performamce grilles though and just swap out the black exterior trim with the chrome on the M2, apparently they are the same size and half the price of the M2 perf grilles. Mine were included in the deal on the car otherwise i would of done this. |
