The announced M4 GTS pricing has erased all interest in CSL products from BMW for me. There's just not a lot M can do with 2/3/4 series chassis that justifies GT3RS pricing imo. Mercedes built a unique chassis for their AMG GT; Audi did the same with the R8. If BMW brings a CSL to market without at least utilizing the architecture underpinning the i8, then they're doing us a disservice.

I was hoping for M2 CSL for 80-100k, but I think that's a pipe dream now.

I am prepared for and okay with pricing north of 100k. It is what it is. If the M2 CSL is made, and it at least loosely fits my vision for it, I'll do whatever needs to be done.

What if the architecture underpinning of the i8 is not meant for a 3.0L twin turbo engine? Keep in mind, the i8 along with the i3 were designed to be the 'future' of the sports car, which basically translates to electric vehicles. They were created to make Carbon Fiber more accessible to the masses, and more cost effective to use on all of BMW's other normal series cars. They're not doing us a disservice at all by not offering the architecture underpinnings of the i8 at all. They're actually doing you a favor.

For clarification, I meant that BMW should offer a true competitor to those machines (R8/AMG GTS) with an advanced chassis underpinning it. I did not knock the i8 or mean that it's exact chassis should underpin the CSL. It was mearly a reference to the chassis design that BMW is capable of producing and have so far not bestowed on an M car.

There is no update because the car just went on sale two months ago.
It is not time.

Scott, you are the man. Thanks. I thought there might be some leaked info.
