How Do I Keep Open the Exhaust Damper
So, I've always know there is that exhaust damper in the right exhaust pipe that opens and closes as it likes. I never had a problem with it causing a bit less sound, making it look a bit asymmetrical in the winter with the exhaust fume, or the fact that you can see right into it from behind on a sunny day. However, today I noticed my exhaust looked like this after my first snowy drive...
Because its not letting as much exhaust fume out when it closes and reopens it was really getting noticeably dirty and caked on with crap. Does anyone know how to open it and keep it open?? |

All you have to do is unplug the servo when the car is cold. Like in the morning before 1st start. #2 Just so you know i plugged mine back in because it rally did not make much difference and I figured it was better in then not. Also whit it open there is still more exhaust that comes out of the right side by design and not only does it run hotter is gets dirtier. It only stays closed for about 30 sec or so here in Charlotte and opens right when you hit the throttle the first time pulling away Give it a try and come to your own conclusions..... |

Valve is on the cleaner tip, you can see it as the collar halfway on the drivers side piping on my car.
And another Estoril Blue M235i in Bergen County? I still haven't seen another in any color on the road since I got mine back in July. |
