Contact your BMW dealer service department, they usually have professional comes to repair and repaint the wheel. $100ish.

My detailer had a wheel guy that came and fixed it up minor rash on the outside edge of the rim. He charged like $70 and it came out perfect and couldn't even tell after..

You guys are lucky getting this done for under $100....
My 3rd party through the dealer charge was over $150...Still cheaper than a new wheel and they did an outstanding job Scrapped the wheel 3 days into owning the car too

You guys made me smile. I scrubbed my rim a few days ago (3 months into owning the car) and I deemed myself the dumbest 235 driver on the East Coast. I'm glad to see some other people have done the same.
Dealer fixed mine for $125.

A DIY??...BavAuto has a fine kit & it works. I did a gashy little number on my right rear wheel on a recent curb, arrrgh!!. This little kit works--BUT:
You have to be patient, do the right fill and sanding and work at those blend lines--like painting an old door that has chipped paint--or doing a dry wall repair. If it isn't sanded out proper, you will always see the "new paint repair" lines. Then, the paint the kit includes is not our M235 Ferric Grey. I went to a custom auto paint supplier--where they photo-computerized the wheel and came up with a single can of matching paint. 18$ total. Got some tack cloth, decent sandpaper and went to work with tire on wheel. Gash was about1.3/4 long...1/2 wide. BavAuto kit sends all you need. Shot the wheel area with a prime after proper masking, then color coat; let it flash off and then top coats. Really quite easy, and while I saved a lot of money, it did take time, which I had. I rather enjoyed the whole process. If you don't think you are patient enough to get blend lines & process steps correct, then just let your local take care of it. You might be happier. If you can afford the car you can afford the repair...I did it because I wanted the challenge to see if I could. |
