2 series could also be a convertible. Is there coming an M2 convertible?

Enjoy your 235 in the interim -- there's always going to be something newer and shinier available. M2 LCI before you know it

Yeah stuff that! If nobody bought one at all, they wouldn't even do an LCI.

I'm getting the first at my dealers and I'm gonna love every second of it!

Any chance of seeing the "M2 concept" in Geneva and the production car at Frankfurt?

Hmm the old neagitve 'everything released in the first year is rubbish' post, not really the case much more IMO? Best reason to hold back would be timings of any current lease ending etc and better discount after a while of being out.

Good luck to all the bold early adopters, its going to be an EPIC car!

M2 introduction will probably coincide with the release of the F22/23 LCI, so the first version could already be the refreshed version (same thing that happened with the E82 1M, basically).

Is anyone else comparing the CLA45AMG to a GT350R with over 500hp? Of course not, what the hell. They are going to be even faster than the M3/4, yet alone the M2!

Why is it so hilarious to compare an M2 to a GT350? I don't understand why some people feel you can only compare cars that are in the exact same class. We don't know the pricing on either car yet, but they are rumored to be in a similar ballpark. As an enthusiast, of course I am going to consider all of the performance oriented cars within my budget.

Depends on your expectations. There's no doubt that the GT350 and the M2 will be right around the same price. But if you expect more or less a souped up (not saying that's a bad thing) M235i is going to keep up in any performance category with a car that will be breaking 500hp, then you are delusional. That car is going to mop up pretty much everything in that price range, and I'm going to guess even much more expensive Porsches when it comes to lap times.

If you guys are considering both because they cost the same, great. But if you expect the M2 to match in terms of braking, grip, acceleration and lap times, then you need to be looking elsewhere. I will be the first to admit that Ford is absolutely on fire

Agreed, the GT350 is pretty sick, I just don't care for the styling that much. And that GT350R is going to be a crazy beast!!

From the standpoint of performance directly between the two, I certainly understand they will be in different leagues. My point was that I love all cars built with the intent on performance, so I will consider everything out there within my price range. I may decide I prefer the smaller size and look of the M2, or I may fall in love with the sound and feel of the V8 in the GT350. I may even decide on the AWD route again and go with an STi, saving some cash in the process.
