Tone Control Setting-Standard Radio

You may have figured this out already, but it took me some months to discover it. Since this procedure isn't in my Nav /Entertainment manual, here it is:

-Navigate to the tone control menu with iDrive.

-Select the function (bass, treble, balance, etc.) you wish to change by rotating the iDrive knob. Press the knob down. The slider turns red.

-Slide your finger laterally across the touchpad to set the slider to the desired level. You can hear the sound change as you move the slider.

-To lock your setting in, press the knob down without touching the surface of the touchpad. The slider turns gray again, and you're finished.

I think only BMW could make such a fundamentally simple procedure so complex and un-intuitive, then omit it from the manual!

I also have a shortcut set to the tone screen to quickly adjust.

Using the knob to set the slider results in the slider moving around randomly for me. Using the touchpad gives a precise setting for the function you're adjusting.

Using the shortcut is a good idea, since we have so many.
