Side Emblem

So, the side little M emblem... I first thought it was Euro vs US, but I'm seeing videos, US videos, that seem to have it. So, what M235i's get the side emblems? Was it a Model Year thing? Random?

p.s. I don't want to open the M vs Not-M thing, there's another thread for that...

I believe they were standard on 2014s and dropped for 2015.

Not in Europe.

Just like the side Line designation, the M side logo can be dropped at configuration/ordering time, but if one doesn't do it deliberately, it will be there as standard. Nothing has changed in 2015 in this department.

At configuration time, one can leave all badges (trunk and side ones - standard), drop one of them, or have the car debadged completely. It's always been this way in EU configurators, and it hasn't changed.

Hey those side badges have been on BMWs for a long time. My 318ti had them.

I'm glad my M235i has them.

I understand the "not a 'real' M car" argument for why BMW removed the side badges this year, but it's kind of lame that they don't care about having a consistent look worldwide. I'm not crazy about this notion that the U.S. is "too cool for school" regarding the badges but the rest of the world isn't. Either do the side badges for everyone or for no one.

I did the same thing. $24 each side from Brian at Sun Motors.
