Finally at the dealership...
oboyoboyoboy... EB 228i with M options and HK at the dealership in the West Texas town of El Paso. Been waiting 5 weeks.
One last Corvette wash before I hand it over, which will be a little sad but is the right thing to do... |

Not as big a switch as you might think. My history is one of small, sporty cars. Saab 900 Turbo back in 1980, [underrated] '90 Ford Probe GT, a couple of '93 MR2s (one turbo, one not), '93 Acura NSX, '06 Honda Civic SI. Picked up the 'Vette 6 years ago and enjoyed it, just didn't drive it much, mostly weekends and trips. IMHO, anything over 350 hp is too much for the street--you just can't use it [legally/safely] to its full potential. Although I have seen the high side of 140 on Hwy 70 from Las Cruces to Alamogordo--60 miles in under half an hour. And under 400 hp is too little for tracks like Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Las Vegas Motor Speedway. So it was kind of a love/hate relationship. Now I'll be back in the sweet spot, streetwise...

Fell in love with the 228i as soon as I drove it. Perfect balance, fits like a glove. Been waiting for a car like this for nearly 10 years, nothing else has felt as pure since the MR2 Turbo. And it's as fast as my old NSX. Amazing, despite all the electronic nannies being added to cars, how technology has improved the breed! I don't think there's any such thing as a bad car anymore. My daily driver is a 6-speed 2011 Honda CR-Z, not quick or fast but a ton of torque and an absolute hoot to drive 'cause it handles like a go-cart. Economy cars outperforming muscle cars and classic sports cars. Whodathunk?

Also, why not a 235? Is it a 2014 or 2015? Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your new ride! John |

Put 45K miles on it in Cali. Lots of track events, get-togethers, and fun times with other owners. Took a job down here at White Sands in '99 and drove another 15K miles. But not the same since I was the only NSX within 200 miles. At 15 years old interior/exterior was deteriorating with replacement parts both costly and increasingly hard to find. Though resale prices were on the upswing, thought I better bail before something really expensive went. It paid for half my '07 Vette... Talk about polar opposites--a scalpel vs. a jackhammer!
