MY 2015 - Monroney / EPA Release Hold

Anyone have experience with possible delays for the Monroney / EPA delivery release holds? With each new model year, the car has to have Monroney / EPA approval (the window sticker). I'm one of the first 2015's which is due to complete production Wednesday. BMW can produce the car, they just can't ship it until the Monroney / EPA approval has been completed. The car has a hold on it until it meets approval. I'm wondering if this will slow down delivery much.

My 2015 x1 was in the first week of '15 x1 production and my CA noted it had a monroney hold note on the tracking from the time it finished production all the way until it was received at port here on the west coast, then it just went away and car was sent to dealer. There was never any delay at any point because of it. So, hopefully you'll be good.

That's great info. Thanks. I asked the 800# if they would ship it with the hold in place. She checked and said they could not ship until hold was released. You have proof that they do in fact ship it, so that is great news.

They'll ship it to the US, but not from the VPC until the hold is cleared.

On these very forums, I believe, some early adopters had issues with the cars being held at VPC, so they do ship them even if they have not cleared.

The Performance Center confirmed today that the car is shipped to the states but kept at the VPC until the hold is removed. I'm hoping the hold is removed during it's voyage to the U.S. The Performance Center will not set a date for PCD until the hold is removed.

I checked today and the Monroney / EPA holds are still on the 2015 2 series. That means no deliveries to dealers in the U.S. until the holds are removed.

The Monroney / EPA hold still in place for all model year 2015's. BMW will hold all 2015's at the Vehicle Processing Center and not deliver to dealers until the hold is released. Has anybody heard when the hold might be released? The first 2015's will hit the U.S. docks on 7/30. That is less than 2 weeks away. So the cars will sit at the docks until the hold is released.

The people at the 800# have it if they know where to look. Some do, some don't. On their screen it is located below the VIN number in the left column (in case you need to tell them where to look) and is marked 'Holds: '. Your CA also has it. It's on his update screen for your car.

TaiChiSteve,

Did you CA have anything to say regarding the Monroney / EPA hold?

Thanks.

Since I now have a PCD delivery date, it looks like the Moroney / EPA hold has been removed from model year 2015's. That means that all 2015's should not be held up at the VPC because of this hold. That's good news because there are a lot of 2015's that are due to hit the shores end of July.

He said he hadn't heard about it.
Just goes to show that we learn more from these forums then our CA knows. Maybe that's why he asked me when we were negotiating a deal, "how do you know all this stuff?"

I'm on the same boat as you. Hope this gets released soon. Only 3 days until it hits the west coast.

I've been tracking The WW ELEKTRA vessel since its departure. I'm glad that the hold has been removed.
My 4GC is on the ELEKTRA...
here is the link to the ELEKTRA tracking thread.

Just talked to BMW customer service. The Elektra arrived early this am and my car was already en route to the processing center! Should be receiving it next week (NorCal). No holds/etc. Everything is all good
