2015 228i M sport order (question)
I only have one question, I'll ask it in the end..
So my wife and decided it was time to retire her 08 328xi. We decided to take advantage of the unforgettable drive event which earns you a $1000 credit within 60 days of a new lease/purchase. She drove a 228i on the lot and i drove an M235. Let me simply put it this way. WOW PHENOMENAL cars! The feel of the chassis was very driver oriented. The 235 was superb but well cover that another time. Naturally a 228i was a perfect choice for her. She wanted to configure her own since the one on the lot didn't have some options she wanted. On order 228i she loves the stance disliked the x drive look. (I have snow tires) Alpine white M sport Premium package (coral red int.) Lighting package Driver assistance package Cold weather package Total with destination $42,650 -5% off MSRP and $1,000 (unforgettable cash) $39,517 out the door Ok so not too bad. Now my question is, how do I know if she will be getting the steering wheel paddles on her steering wheel? Nothing on the BMW site states it as an option, and I've seen some fully loaded 228's not have them. I believe if there are no paddles=no sprt trans. Any help, thanks in advance. Dejan

It may be standard as if MY2015. It's the only thing that makes sense.

You want option 2TB - Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles.
You do NOT want option 205 - STEPTRONIC automatic transmission. I don't know if it's even possible to configure the car with option 205 for MY 2015. |

In the 2015 model year order and pricing guides, the Steptronic option is no longer listed, so hopefully it is no longer possible to downgrade the transmission from sport with paddles.

Note that the un4gettable drive event credit cannot be used past its 60 day window, so I would make sure to get the car from someone who has an allocation about to go into status 112 or 115 (it can still be modified and will start production soon) and sign the deal AFTER you have done the event, as the terms are: valid for a sales or orders made after the event, expires 60 days after event participation date. This means if your car arrives 61 days after the event, you can't use it.
Not a huge deal, but $1,000 is still $1,000. |

They told me today that it's slated for production next week and we should see the car by mid August. Not sure if that's entirely accurate but well see what happens. How long does it take about to get your car after it's been built?
