My coworker said that's about what it took when he got his i3. I did not, although I think I am going right around Christmas this year.

You're getting another BMW at Christmas ??.
It might take longer at the dock and the VPC if it is not an ED. There are others here who have waited really long at the VPC and then when it gets assigned to the trucking company there has sometimes been a long wait at that stage too.

My Dealership is 20 - 30 minutes from the Port and VPC and I did an ED but still don't think I will get my car within 5 days of arrival at port.

But hey, you never know.

It might be a little optimistic--luck has something to do with it. The ship my car was on arrived 3/10 and I don't have it yet (SF Bay Area).

There were a few people on the same ship who got theirs last weekend but most were closer to Port Hueneme. Their cars cleared the port and went to the VPC within a day. Mine sat at the port and didn't get to the VPC until Friday 3/13. As of right now it's cleared the VPC but is awaiting transport to my dealership (expected arrival Thursday).

Someone posted last week that his car got up here within 6 days of vessel arrival. My CA originally said it would be about 7 days.

So I'm probably on the unlucky end with 9-10 days. Hope you're luckier than I!

My dealer is just 30 minutes from the port and the ship arrives at the port on Friday, April 10th(4/10). My mates will also want to come when I go to pick up the car and they can only come during the weekend.

Now I've been a very good boy all this while and did not even ask for anything during Christmas. If God can get my car from Port to the dealer by Sunday (4/12) so I can take delivery the same weekend, I will start believing in miracles.

It could happen since mine was an ED too and they took too much time to put it on a boat at Bremerhaven as well. Also, the strike at Long Beach could still be going on and so the boat could get to Port Hueneme a day ahead of schedule like Inline's did.

I am just hoping it doesn't take more than a week to get to Portland, which is about the average time to my dealership.

Hoping a speedy delivery for you, too, Gatte. I can't even imagine getting to drive it and then giving it up for months...oh, the pain of it!

Hang in there, guys. Just find a way to stay occupied, and I promise you, all this anxiety will simply melt away once the dealer hands you the keys

Seriously, find something else to do for a couple of days, and you'll get that phone call before you know it.

Suggestions:
- A movie you've been meaning to watch but have always procrastinated on.
- TV shows on your HDR you haven't caught up on
- Take your significant other out on a date to a restaurant you've always been meaning to try out
- Read a Wikipedia article about something you always wanted to know about (and I don't mean inline-6-cylinder engines)

As I mentioned earlier, I think the timing of your delivery is going to make this coming Friday one you will never forget

Get your hubby's hair flying all over the place this weekend

I'm counting on it!

The hubby says he won't ride in the car with the top down unless the outside temp is over 75. I tried to shame him into it by showing him the posts of the guys on the East Coast who were out in theirs in freezing temps but he didn't fall for it.

I have a feeling he'll change his mind once he sees it--or sees me leaving without him!

Summer is coming so 75 is a reasonable ask. Oh you should get on Highway 1. Probably one of the most beautiful drives I've made.

Here's the latest position for the Cygnus Leader. Seems to have her turbos spooling. Doing a brisk 16.8 Knots. She is getting close ladies and gentlemen.

Just got off the phone with BMW European Delivery sales and they have an estimate for arrival at Port Hueneme as April 9th and not April 10th.

Someone must have heard my prayers.

Hey, you know about the "Cockpit view", right ?

It shows you a much larger map view with the position of your ship (and other ships, if you want).

Yes, I know the view. It also has options for winds and piracy amongst other things but this was sufficient I thought so just sent it out.

P.S: I did read the whole thread on the Metis Leader.

Once she gets closer to Panama, the excitement heightens

Now, I'm getting anxious to capture her going through the canal locks
