Sold my weekender and DD to get my m235i so I did the reverse.

Two car payments, dbl insurance, maintenance etc all rolled into one nice m235i that I get to enjoy daily.

Before I buy a 2nd car, I think I would just upgrade to a nicer everything car like a M3.

The Z3 is a second car. Not really a daily, but I alternate weeks. Definitely enjoy the Z for weekend cruises along the beach.

I had an '85 RX-7 with the base, 4-barrel carb engine. I loved that car! I had to sell it in 1988. Bought a new RX-8 in 2004 and traded it in on my M235i last year. Another fine car. A little lacking in torque and a bit too much road noise, but a blast to drive on country roads. MPG sucked.

DD/commuter/suffer-the-winter car is a Subaru Crosstrek.....2 Series is for fun, when the mood strikes, good weather, etc. Coincidentally, Crosstrek was exactly half the price of the 2. Nice solid little car, great engineering for the price point, nothing at all like a BMW, though, but what is?

'14 Porsche Carrera S gets driven and tracked a lot. '12 VW Touraeg TDI is a hauler and sometime runabout. '96 Porsche Carrera 4S is a weekend ride.

'15 M235i is my wife's commuter and our runaround car. It was easy for me to "sell" her on this car because of the size. It replaced her '05 Audi S4 and she wanted something not-too-large. Cars, in general, have gotten so huge!

I daily my 228 and my wife has a Kia Sedona Minivan battle wagon that we have taken 60K worth of family road trips in across the U.S. And Europe. I have 4 sons so it made sense. She will trade it in when we get back to the states for whatever she wants.

The 07 Suburban we traded the van for was killing us on gas during the gas price hike. $120 to fill up with 91 once. Week wasn't optimal.

Highlander at the moment but was thinking of downsizing to Mazda3 hatch....but then again, the amount i drive, it may just make sense to get a Zipcar subscription depending on how much they want...

My daily driver is my new '16 m235i coupe (6 speed manual). My weekend/good weather car is a '16 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 package (7 speed manual). The wife drives a '15 Jeep JKU Rubicon Hard Rock.

So far, I'm loving the 2 after 1 week and 700 miles.
