Taking a computer guy and telling him he's reviewing cars now never really ends up well.

I've found cnet reviews never really tell actual car guys what they want to hear. It'd be the same as if I were to start reviewing computer software. I can say it looks nice.. but what do I know when it comes to actually putting it through it's paces?

Wayne's review seems fine for most of the article because he's not going over how the car drives, but when he says he felt the limits and thinks it'd fall behind on the track/autox course was just a weird statement to make. Other than that, what did this review really accomplish? What did it tell people that most people didn't already know?

It's a different POV. As a person that coexists in both camps, started as a gearhead way before going into IT, I think it's good to hear the opinion of someone that should be able to weigh in on the gadgetry and even if they've never autocrossed they should be able to compare and contrast using objective and quantifiable measurements with the IT background helping there.
