So I have been debating for some time on what car to get next. I'm in a transition as I'm retiring from the Military and need a good daily that has some potential. I ran across this car and hadn't seen another like it yet.
I test drove it and liked it for the a daily and potential later for mods. Those pesky mods..... It's Midnight Blue Metallic with Terra Leather, Cold Weather package, Lighting package, Premium Package and 6MT. I haven't seen many in this color if any on the forums or in person. We will see how it goes tomorrow. I would only be able to enjoy it for a month before I would have to ship it so it's in SC when I get there in August. Going from 18mpg to over 30 is something I think I can get used to. Then when things are a little different I will ED a car and come back. Moreso for the beer and brauts and less for the experience. I've already torn around Europe at insane speeds so it's not a big deal to me. Maybe a Ring trip before it leaves just so I can get the Ring decal again and not feel like a poser. Ha ha. I mean we all have our preferences, but I would at least wait for one with the sports package. But you said you haven't seen many like this around, so maybe the selection is lesser over there.

Honestly and the price is very tempting. 33K. I'm not too worried aboutt the lack of Sport package. If it gets boring I will do suspension. It's funny that you would say there's a shortage of BMW's in Germany. Ha ha.

Only my 10c but you should think hard about getting a 228i without the adaptive suspension. Track Handling Package (and to some extent M Sport) make it a much livelier driver's car and a better modding platform, with the M Sport brakes and the 18" wheels; you might find it a little tame without those things.

It doesn't have either. Trying to find a 6MT car with these options and mileage is going to cost me 8K more in the states versus here. It's a daily that's lively enough to keep me entertained until the mod bug starts and I start yanking out the whole suspension and brakes. I would rather start with a base car and mod it to my liking. Serves a couple purposes. One I know what the limits are at the base level. Two, everything is a worthwhile upgrade so I get my money's worth and spend less than the factory stuff for stuff I would buy eventually anyway.

So it has the Premium package, Cold weather package, Light package. The seats are comfy enough for me. I just got back from test driving it again. I am going to pull the trigger. Updates when they happen. I really like the color when the sun hits it just right and the leather is really nice.

I'm not too worried about the 130 top speed. I'm sure eventually that limiter can be removed with coding or tuning.

All the ones I have searched for that are CPO even, and there aren't many, have been around that price unless they are stripper models with no options for the same price as this.

I would have expected the midnight blue on tera combo to look a lot better than that.
When you go see it in person, can you bring a decent camera and a white balance sheet if you have one? It doesn't help that it has the very unsporty steering wheel, wheels and the flat seats. |

So the new M2 prototype passed me on the Autobahn when I was heading through Munich a couple days ago. I didn't have time to take more than one pic on my stupid phone before it was gone. It sounded bad ass when it passed me.
