Congrats, you might be the very first U.S. owner to take delivery on one. Interesting that I don't think even one other forum member has mentioned ordering one yet.

Well today I was told if I want to pic it up at the performance center it is 8 weeks after production. Seems odd because without that I could get in about 30 days or so. Tried to post the a screen shot of the my bmw production but it would not work.

Yes - it is on the California Highway ship which is in the middle of the Atlantic this morning - here is the spot: http://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9574078

It is due in the port on the 12th. I see on your other post the New Jersey folks are getting one Friday. They tell me mine will sit at the port until emissions are clear on the new model. It then will go the performance center in SC where I will be given some potential pick up dates. As of now nothing is confirmed but I am told there is a backlog and it will be February - if it becomes too long I might have it redirected to the dealer.

Looks like there are lots on the way. Wonder why so many dealers were not helpful with orders.

That's great for you, can't wait to see pictures. I recall that a few months ago at least one of the BMW press releases said that dealer test drive cars would arrive about now, and that the factory would not start filling customers orders until January. But obviously at least a few dealers have already sold their initial cars to customers (you being one of the examples). Sounds as is each dealer can choose what they want to do, rather than there being a mandate by BMW. Perhaps BMW knows there are some customers who won't place an order until they can test drive one first, and that's why they suggested the initial cars be used for test drives.

We've decided to hold off and wait for the 235 xdrive convertible which BMW said in a press release will be available later this year...makes sense for us as we will be using the car in the winter. Had some thoughts about just ordering a rear wheel drive model with LSD (for better winter traction) instead, but it appears the upcharge for x drive will actually be less, and x drive probably suits our needs better as we do take ski trips to northern New England.

Please keep us posted on your car.

Saw a black 220i at the dealer today.
Hate the sharkfin on the trunk.
But i likes it, reminds me of my E36 convertible in size.
The 2 is sporty and fun, and with the roof solution, weight are not such an issue as there is with the big brother.

Better that is smaller than the lager shark-fin on the 1er Convertible.

I like the shark fin on the Vert. better than the huge sucker on the Coupe.

You will get use to it after awhile.

Yuck. BMW has further diluted the M badge by using it on a 4 cylinder front driver!

Heresy I say. Even the M235 badge on our '16 vert is now diluted. The marketing people has taken over.

M235i Convertible owners, how is your soft top holding up?

Title basically sums it up. I'm looking to sell my Ducati motorcycle and my GTI, and get myself a convertible. The M235i and the Mustang GT (2015+) are my current top contenders. I've been looking at a CPO 2015 Convertible model, 24k miles, going for ~$31k. I'm curious as to how good the soft top is. Any leaks to worry about? Holes from wear? Road noise? Impact on trunk space with the top down? Thanks in advance for your input!

I have a 01' 330ci vert and its a 3 ply roof...not bad. I drove a 2018 used one, which are 5 ply, and until 70, barely knew I was in a vert. I think the 2015 and 2018 tops are same, and have great reviews are wear.

My 01 doesn't have a crease or leak in it. Good luck

My wife has a 230 convertible; there is noticeably more road noise than in my 240 coupe, but it's still quieter than (or at most as loud as) my Honda Odyssey. Trunk space is not terribly compromised; there's a small compartment that flips down to accept the roof in the folded position, but the trunk is still big enough to fit a set of golf clubs behind that and there's space underneath that compartment as well for shorter objects. Shouldn't affect most daily use or even grocery runs. Runs to BJ's or Costco's to stock up on toilet paper however will be an issue (with or without the top down).

Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but, is there a WTB/WTS thread anywhere? I’m looking to buy a car and i’ve always been told that forums will have the best car for the best price.

I,m sorry, what happened to the b48 and b58 engines. Aren't they supposed to be the "modular" engines of the future. The more I read the more confused i get.
