Clearly the M-Sport cars didn't go through M devision testing.
Is there an update for the 2014 cars to get it so that you can have dsc off and sport suspension?

Yeah I would. I went to a driving event and tried 3 2015 cars all MSport and one M235 also 2015 and sure enough they stayed in Sport mode after turning off the DSC (long 4sec hold of the button) I only drove one of the cars and it was on the street so I cant say for sure if any of the driving dynamics actually changed or just what the information displayed on the screen.

Let us know how it turns out if you get a flash. Good Luck

Software update will not change this. There is no way around it at this time, but that's for another thread...

Not sure what your saying.... Are you saying you inquired and at this time they dont have an update? Or You are stating that a software update can not change the system and what is displayed on the screen?

Thanks for a clarification

As soon as the updated software was available a month or so ago, I tried to program my 2014 and it did not fix the issue with DTC and Sport Mode. I'm not saying that it will never be available, but for now there is no fix for the 2014 models.

Thanks. I'm sure they will release it soon as it doesn't make sense not to. Also the more people that bring up the issue the sooner they will have to address it.

im thinking of doing it next year.

im probalby 50/50 on 228 or m235 but am leaning towards 228i now (like a really stripped down one like the ones at the ultimate drive event).

and i mean, as much as it doesnt seem like it'd be that different, it felt different enough. gonna do euro delivery as my excuse to myself for doing it. you know for that euro delivery experience haha

Ones I drove at the UDE event were 228i Msport for the autox and 228i with Premium Package for the street drive. I'm leaning sportline with lighting as of right now and a special order for the Msport wheel Euro Delivery also sounds like a great experience and something that's on my ToDo list in the next few years. Good luck!

Regarding his review of the 228i, freakin BRAVO! Hats off to him for sharing his experience. In my opinion he did a great job of conveying regular everyday car enthusiast feel about the car. One can feel his joy of the 228i's driving characteristics as well as hear his joy as he steps on the accelerator. He was clearly impressed if not shocked by the 228i. It's cool how he twice mentions he believes the 228i is quicker than the new EcoBoost Mustang which has 310hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Now, comparing the 228i to the M4 is a loooong stretch but again you gotta appreciate this guys enthusiam, especially if you own a 228i.

I like this video! The reason I like this video? Open a new window in your browser right now, search "BMW 228i review" or "BMW 228i first drive" in either Google or YouTube. You will not find much. Surprisingly there aren't any good videos of the 228i being car reviewed or a first drive like there is for the M235i. There are many good videos of car reviews of the M235i. I'm glad to see this 228i video, I say it's about time someone put something out there.
