Yep. "Unfortunately, BMW is not expected to introduce this model outside of China."

It's the 1 Series sedan, shared UKL platform with Mini; front wheel drive. May eventually find its way to North America but definitely China first.

As for the design: it's plainly a concept, and a lot of the details won't make production. Three things that could and I hope don't are: - The mirrors. Horrible. They look aftermarket. - The polished aluminum trim. M-B does it really well on its SUVs, but this looks like a tacked-on kit, especially on the rear valance. - The hexagonal angel eyes. The hexagon is just not a BMW thing. I don't consider it brand appropriate. The body design is phenomenal. It all works well together and looks simple yet harmonized (something else M-B has done well for years with many of its designs). LOVE the way the hood contours gently curve toward the elongated nose and double kidneys. I think the headlights and taillights are a little too 'Asian' in form and attitude, but that's about it.

That is a nice looking Concept Sedan! I'd be all over that for sure.

I have no problem with it being front wheel drive, and it looks good.
Realistically, it will probably be AWD in the US if it comes here. Given the take rate on even AWD 2-series, I can't see what all the whining is about. It's basically a Mini in non-silly clothes, and those are just as much fun to drive as any RWD BMW, though in a very different way.

Make it RWD or AWD with the full m-treatment of wider body, wider tires, carbon fiber roof, lower it a bit and we have lift of

Same here...RWD only for me. And NO Mini I've ever driven is anything like a RWD car. REAL cars are RWD.
That said, I noticed the other day that the wife's new 228i convertible is almost as long as my F30 335i. The 2 is a good bit larger than the 1-series in length and width, and while I can see a 4-door 1-series based on the Mini platform, I wouldn't think they'd do that with this "2-series Gran Coupe"-looking concept. This car appears to be more like an E46 or E90-sized vehicle.
