I don't care for a sunroof anyway. I had one in a previous car and don't think I ever opened it once. Besides, atop the roof is probably the worst place to add unnecessary weight, performance wise. At least I would think so. |

I expected to love my 235 so I won't mention 'driving it'!
The thing I love that I didn't expect was the manoeuvrability* at parking speeds. Combination of the variable rack and boosted assistance at low speeds makes it really wieldy. Other pleasant surprises are the connected features. My E90 was 5 years old and the iDrive has moved on: 3G connection speed, e-mail, electronic user manual. And the high-beam assistant: don't dip for other traffic, steer the light around it - very clever. *Yup, that's how we spell it here |

I'm 5'11" and I have plenty of headroom even with the sunroof. The car I traded in, Camaro 2SS, had no sunroof because with the sunroof I my head touched the ceiling. Now that was a tight fit!
I test drove an EVO MR a few years back and thought to myself what an amazing little go kart that car was. I went with a 335 because of the better overall comfort to the ride and interior. Well the 235 to me is that go kart feel I was looking for but with much more refinement. |

I love the auto transmission gear selection, especially in sport auto, bc it always seems to be in the right gear. Blazingly fast shifting and smoothness around town.
The seats/driving position seems just right for a wide range of use. Really like the adaptive suspension though I'd like less body roll (slightly stiffer sport mode settings). Great cruise control, easy to use and informative. Day time running lights, angle eyes. Overall size of the car. Superb low and mid-range power delivery. Nice engine sound. |

I also had a 14 Evo X. I traded in in for my M235i and got a good price for it. I liked the Evo, but had I known about the M235i in 14, I would have got that instead.

-the steering wheel (seriously the best I've felt)
-the shift knob is nice (could improve on the shifter feel though) -the sound -the power -the perfect size (the rear seats like a 7 series when compared to a Mustang/Camaro) -estoril blue sold me on blue cars forever. -idrive is lightyears away from whatever my dad's old 7 series.

Many of my favorites have already been listed. However, one missing is the power delivery with respect to the 6MT. This car reminds me so much of my college roommate's Mustang 5.0 LX notchback from way back in the day in how torquey it is in the low to mid-range. I loved driving that 5.0, more so than the faster Z28 I had at the time. Just like with the 5.0, the M235 will easily accelerate in 5th at 40mph and even pull from 1,500rppms all the while making the right noises. That nice shove on every shift, even part throttle, is so nice with the 6MT, especially when you're shifting slow. I love that about manuals.

Number 1 for me is how easy it is to drive. And that comes from:
-- the short and narrow size -- great outward visibility -- low effort clutch -- the "drive off assistant" aka hill holder The last one is controversial I know, but I like it. And yes, I could manage without it - I've driven nothing but manuals for 40 years. But I have to admit I like the convenience of it. And it even works in reverse!

This is going to sound weird, but the fuel economy...I will admit yesterday I was a little concerned that I was using a quarter of a tank of fuel a day to commute to and from work.
However after putting £30 in and seeing the needle go from 1/4 to almost full, so at most this car is going to cost me £10 more in fuel than my diesel Alfa 159 did, I was pleasantly surprised and secretly thrilled! Not the gas guzzler you expect it to be. |

First proper night drive this evening...
May I just say adaptive headlights are amazing! It's like driving in daylight, so good..and i love how you see it cut the lights off around the cars in front of you. |

My exhaust. Haven't driven my car in 5 months and I spend half my day watching the video clips I recorded of the exhaust

Pedal placement/modulation. Super easy to heel-toe.
