My 4/22 PCD Experience and M235i Pickup (Pic Heavy)
It was awesome!
I flew my father and I down from Trenton to CLT on $60 flights and my uncle, who happens to live 5 minutes from the center, was nice enough to come pick us up. The week's forecast for Greer was dry every day but Friday. I was trying not to let it bother me, but I was all too excited to watch the early morning rain make way for some sun as we were getting up for breakfast. We headed onto the shuttle to the center where the driver kept us awkwardly "laughing" to some awful jokes, went through the 5 minute presentation at the center, and headed out to the cars. Now onto the pictures.. As hoped (and feared), I took delivery with another guy, Mark, who was picking up his M2. It looked and sounded great, but I'm still not sold. It was still fun to watch and listen to it pull away. Now, I have seen so many intro threads come across these boards since I finalized my order that looked classy and impressive (namely, alpine with terra and orbit wheels) that I had a few moments of uncertainty with my combo, but that all went away for good the second my delivery specialist, Rachel, opened the faux blinded door to the delivery bay. (You can see Mark taking delivery of his black on black on black M2 in the next slot over) Once we went over the basics and scared Rachel with a quick cold rev and backfire, Mark, my dad and I headed over to the Zentrum for some photos. I hoped to have the lovely South Africans, Johannes and his wife, join us but their X4 M40i delivery session was still going on. I couldn't stop looking out the window of my uncle's, where we stayed the night and checked out very lively downtown Greenville. We started the long trip home midmorning Saturday and headed straight to the very twisty climb on 276 and beautiful, but far too short stretch on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I tried my best to stay under 4500 but my foot won out a few times. We finished up the remainder of the 12+ hrs on 81 and 66, and pulled into the garage just before midnight. I've been lucky to dd some pretty special cars in my life so far. I've had a lot of fun in my dad's Integra GS-R that I learned in and the Si, my first car. But this thing is a whole different animal. Out with the old, in with the new, as they say. The odo rolled over to 1000 today so I started winding it out some - I cannot wait to let loose. P.S. Sorry for the iPhone quality photos. |

I also immensely enjoyed my PCD experience. I don't really have a bad thing to say about any of it. Especially when you consider that it's free. BMW definitely gained my loyalty.
