Finally saw an M2 today in person
idk if it's because I'm just used to my car or if I didn't like the color of blue that it was, but....... I think my M235i looks better. The fender flares just seemed a bit much to me. I'd love to drive it, but my dealer can't ever get one on the lot.

Saw a white M2 on the road a month or so back and it looked perfect to me.
Actually looked as though the car should have 400 horsepower. |

The M2 has a really great street presence to me; in fact I don't think photographs do it justice. Having said that, I test-drove one last month and was slightly underwhelmed. The car felt heavy, the MT's throw was a little long and I didn't like the autoblip. They wanted MSRP + 5K so I walked.

I'm amazed at how much Apline White washes out the fender flares, especially from a side profile. My M235 in Mineral White has more aggressive lines from some angles. With that said, I wouldn't be mad with an M2.

I saw one when I was getting an oil change. The guy who checked in my car actually came into the waiting area to tell me an M2 had just pulled in. I thought it looks pretty sweet, but I like my M235i more. I don't think it's a sour grapes thing, I just like the more conservative look of the M235i. The fender flares and wheels of the M2 look sweet but the front and rear bumpers seemed over the top, something I never thought of until I saw it in person.

I love the M2 and loved it since I first saw pictures of it online. Seeing a couple in person in Alpine White (which my car is AW) I did think the front bumper is a little too aggressive. The back bumper I like and don't really have a preference between which I like better. The only thing I really like about the M2 is the fender flares. I prefer my M240i a little more over an M2, but I do wish my M240i was a little more wide.
One thing I don't like about both of them is the front air vent sizes. I think the M3/4 look great. The M2/35/45i are just too big/small. I also personally love the front upper carbon splitter on white and unfortunately don't think they sell them for my car |

I don't own a M235, only a 228ix. IMO I think the M240 offers better balance and ride. I think I would tire of the M2 over time. Of course being 73 YO may skew my opinion. Not a young guy anymore, my ride suits me.

I see them all day at work. I prefer estoril blue or tanzanite blue over LBB and I think I like our msport front bumper over the fangs on the m2. The rear fenders are absolutely gorgeous.

I still haven't seen one on the road or at a dealership. I did see an AW M2 at Watkins Glen last July when I was there for a track day. Guy did a 1:17 lap on the 3.5 mile long course!
Loved the looks of it, though the AW color didn't show off the lines as much as the pictures I've seen of LBB. Still a stunning car though in any color.

The first M2 I saw in person I thought looked better than my m235i. For me it just needs a bit more separation. Perhaps MY2018 will give me the separation I need. Would be nice to hear something interesting at the Detroit auto show.

Unless you are planing to track your car, the real world differences in performance between 235, 240 and M2 are minimal. A s far as looks though I have to say that M2 is almost perfect with exception of the lack of "M" mirrors.

tuners are having serious problems with the m2 and 240 so far.
Yes both of these will be complete beats once they figure it out, but for now, the 235 can make more whp than both from just bolt ons and a tune. The m2 has a suspension that is ready for track tho compared to the 235/240 which are just a little too soft.

The M2 needs a drastically different separation from the rest of the 2 series before it will ever be a viable $$$ option... Body styling, powerplant, whatever.. |

The M2 did a 2:17 lap. I mentioned it in the Tracking/Autocrossing forum a few months back, comparing it to my novice 2:34 lap. Fellow forum member rich8566 did a 2:24 lap with his M235i. Sorry about the confusion.
