Wow, that's one modded m235i. Looks like you have either done everything possible from an M Performance standpoint, plus many others, or you are planning them. Lots of $$$$ invested. Are you happy - has it been worth it?

Modding isn't or at least hasn't been something I have ever been into. That said, I just had my windows tinted 35% and have a set of M Performance pedals to install. I am also thinking about the M Performance CF Rear Spoiler, as I expect it would work on a convertible even though it's not listed as an option for convertibles, and I am also interested in light-weight front lip spoiler from EAS so we'll see.

Thanks!

Yeah, I am very happy with the results. That being said - I really like to modify cars! I know people will say I won't get the money back with resale vs an M car, but to be frank this is for me, no one else - same reason I went with Dinan. There is a ton of Dinan bashing on the forum about value "$/hp" etc - let's be real though someone will ALWAYS have a faster car with more HP. My goal was a balanced "OEM+" car and Dinan delivers that with their setups. Also - everyone has different experiences- I had a JB3 on my 135i back in 2009-2011 time frame, frankly I didn't like it and it was more trouble than it was worth. (I eventually settled in COBB as I had the N54) But to be honest, after I get the steering wheel and wheels, I will probably take a break from spending money .

I think you have a good start on modifications, with your planned list. Might want to check the spoiler fit, I have heard mixed opinions. But the spoiler changes the car. In my opinion the first thing that HAD to go was the rear diffuser, I upgraded to the M performance the first month I had the car! The stock rear end looks kinda civic-ish to me haha.

Good luck!

Agree the M Performance rear diffuser is a good looking upgrade. I am very happy my m235i came with both the M Performance Exhaust (chrome tips) and Rear Diffuser. It also came with the MP Side Decals which I think works great on an AW car. While I would have preferred Coral Red or Terra on the interior (generally like lighter colored interiors), I am very happy with the Black Dakota and Fineline Stream Wood trim so I don't see myself doing any other M Performance interior changes. We'll see how satisfied I am with the black interior once summer comes. If there's a car on this forum that I'd like to emulate, it's this one. To me, it's the perfectly modded AW vert.

On another note, I see you also have, or had, an Audi TTS, among others, in your garage. The TT Roadster and a CPO 981 Boxster were also on my short list. Had Audi imported a TTS Roadster, I would have been more interested and I still lust for a 981 Boxster, but ultimately, I really needed the larger trunk with back seat pass-through to carry my hockey bag and sticks and my sailing gear, as this is a DD from me. Just curious as to your thoughts comparing your m235i and the TTS?

Short answer - I had to get rid of the TTS as quickly as possible. I only had it 5 months! That is how much i disliked it haha. It drove like my GTI from college. The M235i is better in every way (except the interior).

I like that vert you linked to - the cars comes stock with black wheels now - if that was the case - i would be waiting longer to get wheels!

I really considered it, but researching on the forum - they said that the LSD is only activated with DSC off. I never drive like that nor do I track the car, in fact most of my time is in comfort mode. The car is still quicker and handles better even in that mode. This is just a hobby for me, nothing serious for tracking.

Curious of your thoughts on still getting a LSD, given my driving habits...as its not completely off my list yet.

The LSD is purely mechanical, does not interact with DSC. If anything, by reducing inside wheel spin it keeps the DSC from activating too soon or at all. But you can still leave the DSC on in case you get into real trouble. It's the biggest single improvement I made over my E46 330Ci, where I often got into turning situations, on the street, where the DSC reduced power and/or braked in mid turn. Also, depending on your climate, LSD is also real good in low traction whether conditions.

Well I will say I miss the LSD in my ISF - way more stable feel imo.

Looks like I need to add that back to my mod list :-)

Now to decide what order .......

Ha, yeahhhhh I know I thought about that....had to ignore those thoughts.

That being said - got the car back today

To be honest - after driving some - I'm more excited about my suspension upgrades than the power difference! The car feels so much more planted and I feel way more in control. The balance in corners if far better, while the LCAs helped drastically with understeer as well. IMO, it's how the car should have come from the factory.
