Horn
Ok, The horn in my 2016 228ix has been pretty audible which I like with all of the idiots driving these days. Now it has about 1/2 of the decibel level it had. Sounds like a sick cow mooing. I think there are 2 horns, could the higher pitch horn be defective or have a disconnect. I hate to go back to the dealer but it is under warranty. Could I check it myself.

IIRC, the horns are buried inside the front corner, behind the bumper cover. Might be a loose connection you could fix DIY, but if not you will no doubt want the dealership to fix it eventually, so why not start there - you'll hate yourself if you break a clip or something trying to get to them.

Was the dealer able to fix the problem? I've got a 2017 M240ix and the horn works using what I assume is both horns part of the time and other times sounds like the sick cow you describe.
I'm not sure whether the problem is a connection on the horn itself or the horn ring on the steering wheel. I suspect I'll make an appointment too. The car has been perfect up until this point. Just curious what your dealer found. |

BMW agrees, they are ordering me a new horn. I also have a recall for a strap which attaches to the convertible top which is also on order. Time for a visit to your dealer.
