Bmw is really missing the mark for me. Sigh. If the M2 doesn't deliver and be that ultimate driver connection and everything a BMW chassis use to be I'm ordering 2016 Focus RS...I'll keep that til I can save up and get a GT4 cayman.

If a family can not stretch financially to buy a true Vehicle, then it should be wise and buy a more "bang for the buck " true family vehicle that proved to be reliable as well.
BMW did not shine in reliability later, it will be very dumb move to buy a car that is more money for less vehicle and doesn't even shine in Something that proved to be good for, ex. Handling. This is a FWD box with a badge.
Iphone might be nice, but is bulky, big and the battery is a shame for the year we are in. A Cheaper Sony xperia will ofer a similar product in a much smaller package with a battery that Apple only wish for....

I hope it will be a failure as it supposed to be, to buy a such car it will only show that you do lack a lot of technical sense...

If I need a such box, I will definetely buy something else.

FWIW, my 1998 Isuzu Oasis (1st gen Honda Odyssey twin) is more functional, more practical and far more reliable, plus, IMHO, better looking (cleaner design). Good luck getting into this market, BMW.

I just ordered an M235i - that I'm hoping will be just what you expect from the M2 - until I can get a GT4 or used GT3RS. Period, end of story.

The 2 series is the only hope left. We love our M sport 228. The M2 should get it done. We shall see. I'm slowly beginning to understand and realize that unless buying a focused car like a 911 or a cayman s everything else is just a compromise and a bandaid. That includes M cars.

Yep. The 2016 Ford Focus RS probably will be my next "BMW" too.

What's with all the hate? Sure this is no M car, but cars like this ensure that the company can keep building high performance vehicles.
Development get's more costly with every generation and you need to balance it. If BMW would only build unpracticle drivers cars they would probably run out of money sometime in the future.
This just makes sure they can build some reserves to continue building awesome driver centric cars.

It's not like the closed the M GmbH to build this. You guys should all chill a bit.

That is the first car that came to mind. Mini Van IMO
