No, more like 70mph constant speed + I utilized coasting. Well, i wanted to see how good the car can possibly do, while I was just driving on a road. The actual eco pro ride was about 10-15 miles, still enough to get an idea of mpg. I was quite impressed i must say.

Not a proper break-in? Kidding? :-) how do you imagine a proper break-in?? :-D pushing the car to 4500 and breaking every 20 seconds and do this for all 1000 miles? LOL

No, I'm not kidding. Like I said...

Long highway trips with constant speed is not the way to break in the engine. You DON'T want prolonged periods where the engine remains at constant RPM. You want it to vary across the RPM range.

Well, duh. 15 miles won't make any difference, trust me it's impossible to break in ALL the miles the way you described. But still, i will keep that in mind when going to keywest, will have to vary rpm all the time. Good point, since I totally missed that.

The wood trim looks great. I got a BSM with Red interior. It is far from hideous.

I did a 350 trip home from CA to AZ right after I bought my car (though it had a little over 100 miles on it already. Didn't have much choice though.

Long trips aren't against the old wisdom, it's the lengthy time spent at the same engine speed. When I was breaking in my car during morning commutes to work, I would switch between gears 4-5-6-7 at relatively same speed to keep the engine reving at different ranges. But it may not matter... who knows for sure. Can't hurt though.

I thought about PCD at first but it wouldn't work for me this year, unfortunately I have to order locally.

Landfill mounds are no place for M235's. We've also got plenty gated communities with great twisties, not recommended.
