M235i Muffler/Resonator Delete

Today I decided that the car is really awesome in just about every area but I thought it was just a little to quiet for all the muscle it had. Anyways, I had the resonator and muffler removed and ran a 3" inlet to 3" outlet Y pipe to the rear diffuser and what difference. I didn't think it would open it up as much as it did! The overrun and backfire is simply beautiful to hear now!

Have you thought about De- catting? Im currently running catless downpipe with a resonator delete to the stock rear section i would love to hear what yours sounds like in comparison

I have thought about maybe running a de-catted downpipe but I simply don't want to avoid my warranty. If you were to run a catless DP I have a feeling drone would be all too present, but it would sound glorious nonetheless! The backfire and overrun can already set car alarms off with the cat on LOL

Personally, I think if you are going to go catless, I'd leave the stock muffler on. Never a great idea to go cat delete + muffler delete. Usually ends up way too raspy and super loud.

No hurry. Members are just trying to give you a hard time. Work with what you got. Do your best to properly represent the sound of the exhaust tone with this modification.

Honestly the drone in the cabin isn't too bad. If there is any that is present, the active sound definitely helps cover it in Spprt/Sport+

Sounds good on the gas but too much snap crackle and pop on the overrun fro my eyes.

Is the cat or d-cat ? If cat, excessive banging and popping on overrun will no doubt damage cat
