Anyone with ///M Performance Big Brake System?

The OEM brakes that came with my M235i are not bad, but I feel like they could be better. So I'm considering upgrading to the M Performance Brake System, part number 34112221445 (red calipers).

Anybody here that has moved to these brakes? Comments?

Thanks!!!

the OEM brakes are exactly the same just painted red... only difference is the rotors which are dimpled and slotted and i believe slightly bigger diametter...
That's why you don't see anybody getting them..

to me the M perf brakes are not worth it.... you get 90% sames parts with the OEM

As always, thanks pikcachu for sharing your opinion with me. I now understand that they're not "that" good to worth the $2,000 investment

LOL well that sound like a good idea, but, to save the part of the ///M emblem on the calipers, would require a very good paint job, which I don't think I can find in my country

You can give Matt @ motogfx a call. He does stickers and made a few for my brakes on my IS350

you can just always just get the rotors and keep the blue brakes as is... there is no performance difference between the blue and the red

Yup the M235i comes standard with M brakes. Same kit you have on your car now.

Get a 6 piston brembo kit with 2 piece rotors. Just do the front, that should satisfy you

There is a difference between mppk red and blue calipers.

MPPK rotors are 370mm diameter so std blue calipers will not fit as they are to suit std rotor 340mm dia.

Try different pads before buying an all new brake setup. You'll most likely be happier and so will your wallet. Only real reason to even consider a brake system overhaul is if you're finding them insufficient on a track or you have money to waste.

Yeah, try some pads and fluid first. Frankly, the fluid might do it for you; the brakes are actually pretty damn good if you switch the fluid. Very little fade.

I wonder how much the standard F80 brakes run. Might be a worthy upgrade.

Fluid change will only help if you're boiling your brake fluid under extreme braking conditions where the brakes do not have sufficient time to cool before being used heavily (ie track events). It will not make any difference in any any other scenario.

That is true. I sort of figured if he wanted a brake upgrade, it was for track use. My mistake.

stock size [340mm x 30mm thk] but dimpled & slotted [D&S] front disc part # 34106797602

stock size [345mm x 24mm thk] but D&S rear disc part # 34206797598

Above part numbers are those quoted in the relevant yellow boxes maybe dimple and slotted rotors (same size as stock m235i rotors 340mm F and 345mm R) for lower powered f30 msport/MPPK upgrade.

M235i MPPK use same size rear rotors but fronts are larger, 370mm rotors. Red/yellow/orange front calipers aren't the same as stock blue calipers !

So we can't order the rotors for the rear unless we get the BBK for the rear? I just want the rotors...
