Sputtering/Loss of Power/Hesitation when shifting

I recently installed BMS Stage 1 and a BMS intake. When I get on the throttle and shift into the next gear, the car losses power and I have to back off the throttle. It also sometimes sputters a few times and then gets back on the power after a couple seconds. I'm thinking it has something to do with the intake, but I'm open to suggestions.

Possibly a coil, I only say that because our 335 convertible has had this happen twice and it was coils both times. My N54 did it both time with 40-50,000 miles so its doubtful you have the same issue but you have the same symptoms.

Take off the intake and see what it does.

Ya i have 23000 miles with no codes.I just checked all the fitments. Nothing was loose on the intake connection. I'm planning on taking it off this weekend and doing some pulls.

I'm having the same issue I have jb4 and bms intake. I was thinking coil pack or spark plug. Not getting codes though, so I've been waiting to get codes to diagnose. It doesn't happen all the time but is very annoying when it does. My 335 did this too but threw a code right away so it was easy to figure out the problem.

There is a nipple on the intake with a little rubber cap on it. Make sure this rubber cap is tightly fasted to the intake. It seems that when the engine bay gets hot, that rubber cap expands, allowing air to escape which causes issues. This happened with my car and I zip tied that rubber hose onto the nipple and haven't had any issues since.

You also may just have a bad intake. These BMS intakes have seem to be hit or miss with our cars. Probably just better off taking the intake off and seeing how the car reacts.

Took intake off, and the issue is completely gone. I may try to reinstall and secure that rubber cap better as Fabspeed mentioned.

Also and this a shot in the dark without knowing some more data, but the maf could be affected and need to be told CFM has increased and tune doesn't know what to do when maxed out or just plain 'Ol cleaning of the maf.

Wanted to try this and found that that little rubber cap was ripped, tried to zip tie it anyway. I got back after a short drive and now it's gone. I'll buy another one and attach it as suggested. I haven't driven it much with out that cap but I did drive it a little. I haven't noticed any issues with it off. Is it safe to run without the cap?

where is this nipple located at? i can you send a picture my car is having the same exact issue thank you
