JB4 and exhaust flap issue.

Not getting a response on the other boards so I'll try on 2addicts.

JB4 and exhaust flap issue...

Been running fully open, but I just put on my MP exhaust so I wanted to try to go back to OEM mode to test the sound.

Basically even with the JB4 set to OEM operation (both blinkers) the flap stays open even in comfort mode. I can force it closed using the JB4 close option, but when I put the JB4 back to OEM mode it will open the flap again (in comfort mode) after 30 seconds or so and stays like that no matter what driving mode I'm in.

Anyone else seen this?

Is there a way to "reset" the jb4 to go back to it's original settings?

Hmmm. I had a JB4 and I also had a canflap before that. I just left them open all the time. If you have OEM operation selected, it should just do "what it does". The only time I could note any difference was when I'm in my garage and you can hear the "clink" noise of it operating. On the road, I could never tell

Yes, problem is that it doesn't do the "what it does" part lol.

Same issue this guy is having:

I might be wrong but i thought OEM operation will have both flaps open all the time once car warmed up .. I know for sure thats how it was on my E9x 335

I thought it was based off drive mode. On the 235 at least. Also the 235 only has one flap. My car was not stock for long so I can't remember. Now you have me second guessing myself

That would mean the flap is only there to be closed during warmup? I find that hard to believe. Also even then it means my flap is not working correctly when Jb4 is in OEM mode. My flap is open 24/7 (which the ladies do like )

Thats how it was in the E chassis cars. Flap would be closed until car is warmed up and then it is open all the time

Oh okay, I'll check on this tomorrow. I just have the Dinan performance tuner and intake installed.

I forgot to double check after starting the car up but came back home and noticed it was closed under comfort mode and open on sport mode, even switched modes several times to verify.

Yes, that's what I thought. I think JB4 isn't working correctly with the flap. I knew I used to be able to control it with the sport button.

Anyway to do a factory "reset" on the jb4??

Thanks, but I posted twice there already. No reply.

I'll try and pull the negative battery terminal. See if it resets anything.
