Just another 228i...

Been lurking awhile, but figured I'd say hello. I think I might have been one of the first deliveries. Ordered back in Feb and took delivery April 11th.

First time BMW owner, coming from a Mazdaspeed 3 and still have a 350Z for weekend duty. I wanted a simple build around the things I find most important.

AW 228i M-Sport 8-spd
Coral Red Leather
Lighting Package
M-Sport brakes

The only thing I've done so far is 15% tint. Phenomenal little car. Not sure yet if I'll do much to it, that will all depend on if I plan on keeping it long term or not.

Congrats man, I love glacier silver. The tint is perfect too.

Wow that 350Z looks beast!
I'm assuming that 350Z is heavily tuned, so you can't really compare the 228i to it, or can you?

Edit: not glacier silver, alpine white lol. Still looks great

The 228i is easily faster than the Z, no doubt about it. The Z's suspension is a touch better with what I've done to it, but nothing crazy. The Z is very raw, which I love about the car. It's fun to see what 11+ years has done with cars, as this is a 2003 Track model. At times I wish I had gone with the 6-spd with the BMW, but letting the ZF pound through the gears is awesome.

Looks great for a 2003 model and I'm surprised to hear that it's slower than the 228i. I think it's the 370Z that is comparable to the M235i.

i had a friend with an 05 350z which was the trim level 1 up from the base (i remember there were 5 trims at the time).

that car was definitely "raw". for daily driving it was brutal in LA, every pot hole and crack in the road was tough even as a passenger in his car.

Beautiful car! Had I not gotten black, I think one of the whites would have been my 2nd choice.
