Extremely Rough Idle after Dinan S2 Install

Hi everyone, I've been looking everywhere for an answer on this and I can't seem to find anyone that has had a similar problem.. After installing a Dinan Stage 2 piggyback (used) in my car, the car idles extremely rough and sounds like its misfiring. I've double checked all connections and verified that the software is correct (M235i, S2, Electronic Wastegate). I'm going to try to use the BT app today to see if that brings any new info to light. The good news is plugging the stock connections back into their stock location restores the car to 100%, no issues whatsoever. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I have the BMS Intake, haven't waited long enough for it to get warm, don't want to damage the car.

I intalled S2 and Dinan CAI two weeks ago. The first 4 days had really rough idle at cold engine startups. Revs went higher and lower than normal than with the S1 + factory intake. Almost felt the engine was going to shut down before revving up again.
Everything went back to normal idle/engine statup about five days after install, just after long drive with the car.
I contacted my BMW service center / Dinan about the issue, still waiting for their response.
Hope this helps.

Mine sounds like it's misfiring though, sputtering almost. Did yours sound like that?

My issue was just unusual revving up and down for a few seconds before idling, during cold startups. No misfiring. Now everything "feels" OK. Maybe the ECU adjusted itself tho the S2.
Do you notice any power difference, specifically above 2500-3000rpm during normal driving?
Just waiting for the BMW/Dinan dealer response to see if Dinan has adressed the original issue in some way. Also waiting for the ios app.

Haven't tried driving when it sounds this bad. Going to use the Android app and see if it provides any insight whatsoever.

Just plugged it back in and started it up, still sounds the same. Against my better judgement I let it run, but it shut off after 30 seconds or so. Looks like i'll be taking it in to a shop Monday.

I guess there's no warranty for this since you bought it used...

I agree. Try it with the stock intake. The dealer won't help you since you don't have the warranty.

I'll try taking it out tomorrow. As for the warranty I'm not trying to get it covered, just have a professional look at it. I'm convinced it's something stupid that I'm missing.

As others have said I would try to uninstall the BMS intake first and see what the result is. We have not seen anything resembling that kind of reaction to our tune/intake before so I would start with that as that would be the main difference from our testing.

Nice dig.

Intake is no longer back-ordered now though in case you wanted to hop back on that train. That revolving door of back orders finally got shored up about a month ago. Just saying...

No issues so far and works great . I would buy the Dinan intake but I'm considering replacing my car so I'm holding for now

Finally took the BMS out today. Car ran better, but still not good enough to where I'd feel comfortable driving... Any other suggestions? I should also mention that I have a shiftek catless downpipe and AWE tuning exhaust, perhaps the CEL from that is causing issues?

Doubt it's the downpipe or exhaust. If it wasn't the intake it's probably related to the Dinan.

Confirmed for m235i although that box has early firmware. There's been a few updates since the 1.44 version that has been on that box but I don't recall exactly what issue the updates fixed offhand so the updates may be meaningless. If you have access to a code scanner I would scan the vehicle to see what faults are shown since if it's running like crap I would be amazed if there weren't codes pointing you somewhere.
